The lack of updates since 2018 indicates the developer has ceased active market participation. ## Monetization Strategy - **Model:** Free - **Tiers:** Free - **Analysis:** Area & Geometry is distributed as a free utility with no observable in-app purchases or subscription tiers. ## SWOT Analysis {#swot} **Core Strengths:** - Zero-cost utility model removes financial barriers for students - Single-tap calculation engine provides immediate results for basic geometry exercises **Growth Levers:** - Modernizing the interface could capture users frustrated by the lack of updates in legacy geometry tools ## Recent Changes (v2 → v3) {#recent-changes} The primary change is a strategic pivot from a 'Maintain' to a 'Sunset' recommendation, driven by the conclusion that the 8-year development silence creates unrecoverable technical debt. **Overall trend**: Declining **Compared at**: 2026-08-18 ### High-impact changes - **[Shifted] Strategic Recommendation** (positioning) ### Medium-impact changes - **[Shifted] SWOT Re-framing** (swot) ## What's New - **Latest (v1.1.4, 8 years ago):** General stability and performance improvements. ## App Momentum (Zombie) {#momentum} - Dormant for over 96 months - No releases since July 2018 > **Cadence:** 1 total versions · 0 majors in last 6 months · 2961 days since last update ## The "So What?" (Strategic Takeaway) {#so-what} Area & Geometry is an education app that is completely free. It holds a 2.87/5 rating from 23 reviews. > **Bottom Line:** Area & Geometry is a legacy tool that no longer meets modern user expectations, and sunsetting the project would allow the developer to focus on active initiatives. **Best for:** Students and individuals requiring quick geometric area calculations for exercises. ### PM Action Plan (Next Best Moves) - [ ] [SUNSET] Sunset the application because the 8-year development gap makes it unviable for modern OS standards → eliminate brand drag ### Outlook: Declining The education utility market is consolidating around apps that offer active support and feature expansion. Area & Geometry is effectively a zombie product, and its continued presence in the store offers no strategic value. - 🔴 The 96-month development silence indicates the project is abandoned, which will lead to inevitable performance regressions on newer iOS versions. - 🔴 The 2.87-star rating suggests that even the core utility is failing to satisfy users, further accelerating the decline in relevance. ## Key Metrics Summary | Metric | Value | | :--- | :--- | | Overall Rating | 2.87/5 | | Total Reviews | 23 | | Confidence | Low | | Pricing Model | Free | | Platforms | iOS | | Key Features | 2 analyzed | | Trend | Declining | | Outlook | Declining | ## Competitor Comparison | App | Rating | Sentiment | Developer | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Area & Geometry** (this app) | 2.87/5 | N/A | Maxime Haeyaert | | [AlgoApp - Flashcards](https://marlvel.ai/apps/algoapp-flashcards) | 4.5/5 | n/a | AlgoApp Inc | | [Elevate - Brain Training Games](https://marlvel.ai/apps/elevate-brain-training-games) | 4.7/5 | n/a | The Mind Company | | [Flashcards Deluxe](https://marlvel.ai/apps/flashcards-deluxe) | 4.5/5 | N/A | OrangeOrApple.com | | [Flash Cards Flashcards Maker](https://marlvel.ai/apps/flash-cards-flashcards-maker) | 4.0/5 | Mixed | Infinite Wave Media, LLC | | [Flashcards maker - AI generate](https://marlvel.ai/apps/flashcards-maker-ai-generate) | 4.1/5 | Mixed | Teleprompter LLC | ## Company Profile - **Developer:** Maxime Haeyaert ## Data Sources & Links - **App Store:** [View on Apple Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/area-geometry/id1281610640?uo=4) - **Sources:** App store metadata. ## Related Intel Reports - [*AlgoApp - Flashcards*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/algoapp-flashcards) (AlgoApp Inc) · 4.5/5 Rating - [*Elevate - Brain Training Games*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/elevate-brain-training-games) (The Mind Company) · 4.7/5 Rating - [*Flashcards Deluxe*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/flashcards-deluxe) (OrangeOrApple.com) · 4.5/5 Rating - [*Flash Cards Flashcards Maker*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/flash-cards-flashcards-maker) (Infinite Wave Media, LLC) · 4.0/5 Rating - [*Flashcards maker - AI generate*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/flashcards-maker-ai-generate) (Teleprompter LLC) · 4.1/5 Rating - [*Impulse - Brain Training*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/impulse-brain-training) (GMRD Apps Limited) · 4.6/5 Rating - [*Peak - Brain Training*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/peak-brain-training) (Synaptic Labs) · 4.7/5 Rating - [*자주 틀리는 우리말*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/app--424) (DaolSoft, Co., Ltd.) · N/A Rating - [*달공부 - 한 달 공부 다이어리 + 루틴/공부 타이머*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/azlabs-dalstudy) (SuWon Choi) · N/A Rating - [*타요콘 - 타요 아바타 놀이동화*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-kigle-project-tayocon) (KIGLE) · 3.1/5 Rating ## Frequently Asked Questions {#faq} ### Is Area & Geometry still being updated?
