(Strategic Takeaway) {#so-what} Prepware Instrument Pilot is an education app that is a paid app. It holds a 2.68/5 rating from 41 reviews. > **Bottom Line:** Prepware maintains a strong reputation for FAA-verified accuracy, but its 10-month development silence leaves it vulnerable to video-integrated rivals. The PM should prioritize a trial-to-conversion funnel to defend the user base against high-velocity competitors. **Best for:** Aviation students and pilots preparing for FAA Knowledge Exams who require structured, reliable study materials. ### PM Action Plan (Next Best Moves) - [ ] [INVEST] Ship a free-to-try limited module because the $9.99 barrier prevents top-of-funnel conversion → increase install velocity. ### Feature Gaps vs Competitors - Full-motion video flight training modules (available in Sporty's Pilot Training but absent here) ### Outlook: Declining The aviation test-prep market is consolidating around platforms that offer integrated video and multi-platform synchronization. Prepware's current posture is exposed: without a pivot to interactive study features, the app will likely see continued erosion of its user base to rivals that offer a more cohesive learning path. - 🔴 The 10-month update silence suggests a lack of active feature investment, which compounds the risk of churn to video-integrated competitors. - 🔴 The absence of modern engagement loops like gamified progress tracking limits the app's ability to retain students through long-term study cycles. ## Key Metrics Summary | Metric | Value | | :--- | :--- | | Overall Rating | 2.68/5 | | Total Reviews | 41 | | Confidence | Low | | Pricing Model | Paid | | Platforms | iOS | | Key Features | 2 analyzed | | Outlook | Declining | ## Competitor Comparison | App | Rating | Sentiment | Developer | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Prepware Instrument Pilot** (this app) | 2.68/5 | N/A | ASA | | [Zutobi: Permit & Driving Prep](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-waldenback-driverlicenseapp) | 4.7/5 | Mixed | Zutobi AB | | [DMV Genie: Permit Test 2026](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-cristiano-dmvgeniusfree) | 4.8/5 | Excited | Elegant eLearning | | [Sporty's Pilot Training](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-sportys-pilottraining) | 4.9/5 | N/A | Sporty's Pilot Shop | | [King Ground School Companion](https://marlvel.ai/apps/king-ground-school-companion) | 4.9/5 | N/A | King Schools, Inc. | | [AlgoApp - Flashcards](https://marlvel.ai/apps/algoapp-flashcards) | 4.5/5 | Mixed | AlgoApp Inc | ## Company Profile - **Developer:** ASA - **Website:** [https://www.asa2fly.com](https://www.asa2fly.com) - **Social:** [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/asa2fly) · [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/ASA2FLY) · [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch) · [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/asa2fly) ## Data Sources & Links - **App Store:** [View on Apple Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/prepware-instrument-pilot/id338887882?uo=2) - **Dev Site:** [Official Website](https://www.asa2fly.com) - **Sources:** Developer website content, About us / company information, App store metadata. ## Related Intel Reports - [*Zutobi: Permit & Driving Prep*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-waldenback-driverlicenseapp) (Zutobi AB) · 4.7/5 Rating - [*DMV Genie: Permit Test 2026*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-cristiano-dmvgeniusfree) (Elegant eLearning) · 4.8/5 Rating | Positive Sentiment - [*Sporty's Pilot Training*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-sportys-pilottraining) (Sporty's Pilot Shop) · 4.9/5 Rating - [*King Ground School Companion*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/king-ground-school-companion) (King Schools, Inc.) · 4.9/5 Rating - [*AlgoApp - Flashcards*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/algoapp-flashcards) (AlgoApp Inc) · 4.5/5 Rating - [*Elevate - Brain Training Games*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/elevate-brain-training-games) (The Mind Company) · 4.7/5 Rating - [*Flashcards Deluxe*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/flashcards-deluxe) (OrangeOrApple.com) · 4.5/5 Rating - [*Flash Cards Flashcards Maker*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/flash-cards-flashcards-maker) (Infinite Wave Media, LLC) · 4.0/5 Rating - [*Flashcards maker - AI generate*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/flashcards-maker-ai-generate) (Teleprompter LLC) · 4.1/5 Rating - [*Impulse - Brain Training*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/impulse-brain-training) (GMRD Apps Limited) · 4.6/5 Rating ## Frequently Asked Questions {#faq} ### Is Prepware Instrument Pilot suitable for beginners?
