The absence of active development suggests a stable but stagnant market position relative to more dynamic educational platforms. ## Monetization Strategy - **Model:** Freemium - **Tiers:** Lite version with limited access, Full access via one-time EUR 9.99 purchase - **Analysis:** The one-time purchase model avoids recurring subscription fatigue, though it limits the developer's ability to fund ongoing feature development. ## 🟢 User Sentiment (Medium Confidence: 2 of 2 reviews analyzed) {#user-sentiment} - **Overall Rating:** 5/5 - **Platform Split:** iOS 5.0/5 (1 ratings) - **Overall Sentiment:** Thrilled ### Top Praises - **The application provides a highly useful tool for instructors and teachers to improve water skills** - **Water enthusiasts across all skill levels find the content and tools beneficial for their development** ## SWOT Analysis {#swot} **Core Strengths:** - 300+ video library creates a high barrier for new entrants - Offline-first design enables usage in connectivity-restricted pool environments **Growth Levers:** - Localized content expansion for non-English speaking markets - B2B partnership integration with swim school management software ## What's New - **Latest (v1.6.2, 11 months ago):** Updated the default application language. ## App Momentum (Zombie) {#momentum} - No major releases in 333 days. - Maintenance-only cadence since early 2021. > **Cadence:** 2 total versions · 0 majors in last 6 months · 333 days since last update · 0 days avg between updates ## The "So What?" (Strategic Takeaway) {#so-what} Water Competence is an education app that is free with in-app purchases. It holds a 5/5 rating from 1 review. > **Bottom Line:** Water Competence holds a strong pedagogical foundation, but the current maintenance-only posture leaves the platform vulnerable to more agile competitors. Refreshing the core codebase would secure the platform's authority among professional instructors. **Best for:** Swimming instructors, swim school operators, and parents seeking structured, visual guidance for water safety. ### PM Action Plan (Next Best Moves) - [ ] [MAINTAIN] Audit core video playback stability because the app has not been updated in 333 days → prevent potential churn ### Outlook: Stable The educational swimming market is shifting toward integrated, cloud-connected platforms that offer real-time curriculum updates. Water Competence remains stable but exposed, as its static content library will eventually lose relevance without a regular update cadence. - 🔴 The 333-day update dormancy indicates a maintenance-only posture, which risks long-term platform incompatibility and user churn. - 🟢 The existing 300+ video library remains a high-utility asset for instructors, sustaining a 5-star rating despite the lack of recent updates. ## Key Metrics Summary | Metric | Value | | :--- | :--- | | Overall Rating | 5/5 | | Total Reviews | 1 | | Sentiment | Thrilled (90/100) | | Confidence | Medium | | Pricing Model | Freemium | | Platforms | iOS & Android | | Key Features | 3 analyzed | | Outlook | Stable | ## Competitor Comparison | App | Rating | Sentiment | Developer | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Water Competence** (this app) | 5/5 | Thrilled | Actiomove | | [AlgoApp - Flashcards](https://marlvel.ai/apps/algoapp-flashcards) | 4.5/5 | n/a | AlgoApp Inc | | [Catbus Student](https://marlvel.ai/apps/catbus-student) | 4.3/5 | N/A | Cohota Join Stock Company | | [Elevate - Brain Training Games](https://marlvel.ai/apps/elevate-brain-training-games) | 4.7/5 | n/a | The Mind Company | | [Flashcards Deluxe](https://marlvel.ai/apps/flashcards-deluxe) | 4.5/5 | N/A | OrangeOrApple.com | | [Flash Cards Flashcards Maker](https://marlvel.ai/apps/flash-cards-flashcards-maker) | 4.0/5 | Mixed | Infinite Wave Media, LLC | ## Company Profile - **Developer:** Actiomove - **Website:** [https://www.watercompetence.com/](https://www.watercompetence.com/) - **Social:** [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/watercompetence) · [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/watercompetence) ## Data Sources & Links - **App Store ID:** 1501523460 - **Google Play ID:** com.watercompetence - **Dev Site:** [Official Website](https://www.watercompetence.com/) - **Sources:** Developer website content, App store metadata, User reviews. ## Related Intel Reports - [*AlgoApp - Flashcards*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/algoapp-flashcards) (AlgoApp Inc) · 4.5/5 Rating - [*Catbus Student*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/catbus-student) (Cohota Join Stock Company) · 4.3/5 Rating - [*Elevate - Brain Training Games*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/elevate-brain-training-games) (The Mind Company) · 4.7/5 Rating - [*Flashcards Deluxe*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/flashcards-deluxe) (OrangeOrApple.com) · 4.5/5 Rating - [*Flash Cards Flashcards Maker*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/flash-cards-flashcards-maker) (Infinite Wave Media, LLC) · 4.0/5 Rating - [*Flashcards maker - AI generate*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/flashcards-maker-ai-generate) (Teleprompter LLC) · 4.1/5 Rating - [*Impulse - Brain Training*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/impulse-brain-training) (GMRD Apps Limited) · 4.6/5 Rating - [*Peak - Brain Training*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/peak-brain-training) (Synaptic Labs) · 4.7/5 Rating - [*Quran Treasure Island for Kids*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/quran-treasure-island-for-kids) (Akeela Manekia) · 4.9/5 Rating - [*Valencia College - MyVC*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/valencia-college-myvc) (Valencia College) · 5.0/5 Rating ## Frequently Asked Questions {#faq} ### Is Water Competence suitable for professional swimming instructors?
