The absence of a subscription model contrasts with category leaders that gate advanced organization features behind monthly fees. ## Monetization Strategy - **Model:** Free - **Tiers:** Free to download with no account required - **Analysis:** Koste is currently free with no IAP or subscription gates, positioning it as a utility-first tool. ## SWOT Analysis {#swot} **Core Strengths:** - OCR-based digitization of physical recipe cards removes manual entry barriers. - Native iCloud synchronization ensures data availability across iOS devices. **Growth Levers:** - Implementing a freemium model could capture revenue from power users migrating from paid competitors. ## App Momentum (Zombie) {#momentum} - Quiet 5 months, no updates released. - Initial launch occurred April 2026. > **Cadence:** 1 total versions · 1 majors in last 6 months · 171 days since last update ## The "So What?" (Strategic Takeaway) {#so-what} Koste: Meal & Recipe Spinner is a food & drink app that is completely free. > **Bottom Line:** Koste provides a high-utility solution for recipe digitization, but the 172-day update gap threatens its viability. Implementing a sustainable revenue model would unlock the resources needed to transition from a static utility to an actively maintained tool. **Best for:** Home cooks who struggle with meal planning and want to digitize their existing physical recipe collections. ### PM Action Plan (Next Best Moves) - [ ] [INVEST] Ship a freemium tier because the current free-only model lacks a revenue link to fund development → sustain long-term maintenance ### Outlook: Declining The meal-planning category is consolidating around apps with active live-ops and frequent feature updates. Koste's current maintenance-mode status leaves it exposed to competitors that can better adapt to user requests and platform changes, likely leading to churn as the app fails to evolve. - 🔴 The 172-day update gap indicates a dormant development cycle, which increases the risk of technical obsolescence as iOS system requirements shift. ## Key Metrics Summary | Metric | Value | | :--- | :--- | | Total Reviews | 0 | | Confidence | Low | | Pricing Model | Free | | Platforms | iOS | | Key Features | 3 analyzed | | Outlook | Declining | ## Competitor Comparison | App | Rating | Sentiment | Developer | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Koste: Meal & Recipe Spinner** (this app) | N/A/5 | N/A | Elvijs Rascevskis | | [소박한 한 그릇](https://marlvel.ai/apps/app--426) | N/A/5 | N/A | DaolSoft, Co., Ltd. | | [알토란 레시피 - 요리 반찬 레시피](https://marlvel.ai/apps/woodisw-com-altrecipe) | N/A/5 | N/A | WoodiSW | | [メニュー](https://marlvel.ai/apps/app--677) | N/A/5 | N/A | Satoshi Sato | | [캐시모어](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-bridgeworks-ios-cashmore) | 4.6/5 | N/A | bridgeworks | | [푸드트래블-푸블페이](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-membership-foodtravel) | 1.3/5 | N/A | Flexday | ## Company Profile - **Developer:** Elvijs Rascevskis - **Website:** [https://koste.app](https://koste.app) ## Data Sources & Links - **App Store:** [View on Apple Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/koste-meal-recipe-spinner/id6759573733?uo=4) - **Dev Site:** [Official Website](https://koste.app) - **Sources:** Developer website content, App store metadata. ## Related Intel Reports - [*소박한 한 그릇*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/app--426) (DaolSoft, Co., Ltd.) · N/A Rating - [*알토란 레시피 - 요리 반찬 레시피*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/woodisw-com-altrecipe) (WoodiSW) · N/A Rating - [*メニュー*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/app--677) (Satoshi Sato) · N/A Rating - [*캐시모어*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-bridgeworks-ios-cashmore) (bridgeworks) · 4.6/5 Rating - [*푸드트래블-푸블페이*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-membership-foodtravel) (Flexday) · 1.3/5 Rating - [*マイ・レシピ*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/app--689) (Satoshi Sato) · N/A Rating - [*ジョイフルアプリ*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/jp-co-unerry-bbcouponappjoyfull) (UNERRY,INC.) · 3.5/5 Rating - [*フレスタネットスーパーアプリ*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/jp-stailer-fresta) (10X, Inc.) · 4.3/5 Rating - [*100 Lebanese Recipes*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-lebguide-100lebaneserecipes) (LebGuide.com) · 4.7/5 Rating - [*100 лучших рецептов Mom Story*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-momstory) (Viktoriia Urmach) · 4.9/5 Rating ## Frequently Asked Questions {#faq} ### Is Koste free to use?
