The lack of updates since May 2025 suggests a static market position, as it relies on its legacy AUV3 integration to retain users rather than aggressive chart growth. ## Monetization Strategy - **Model:** Free - **Tiers:** Fully free standalone app and AUV3 extension - **Analysis:** The app operates as a free, feature-complete tool designed to drive brand awareness and user acquisition for the paid Syntorial training platform. ## SWOT Analysis {#swot} **Core Strengths:** - AUV3 extension integration enables professional DAW workflows - Educational utility reinforces the Syntorial training platform link **Growth Levers:** - Paid preset packs could monetize the existing user base ## What's New - **Latest (v2.0.020, 1 years ago):** Maintenance update resolving audio crackling, preset menu crashes, and minor UI inconsistencies. ## App Momentum (Zombie) {#momentum} - Ships maintenance-only updates. - Last major release May 2025. > **Cadence:** 1 total versions · 0 majors in last 6 months · 488 days since last update ## The "So What?" (Strategic Takeaway) {#so-what} Primer 2 Synth is a music app that is completely free. It holds a 4.53/5 rating from 19 reviews. > **Bottom Line:** Primer 2 Synth remains a functional, educational bridge to the Syntorial platform, but its dormant development cycle leaves it vulnerable to displacement by more active rivals. **Best for:** Music producers and students of synthesis looking for a simple, educational subtractive synthesizer for mobile and desktop environments. ### PM Action Plan (Next Best Moves) - [ ] [MAINTAIN] Audit AUV3 stability because the 16-month release gap risks compatibility issues → maintain brand reputation ### Outlook: Stable The mobile music production market is consolidating around tools with frequent live-ops and feature updates. Primer 2 Synth remains stable as a niche educational tool, but its lack of active development means it will likely lose relevance as mobile DAW standards evolve, forcing a pivot toward either a full sunset or a dedicated maintenance-only strategy. - ⚪ The 16-month update gap indicates a maintenance-only lifecycle, which limits the app's ability to capture new market share in the mobile music space. ## Key Metrics Summary | Metric | Value | | :--- | :--- | | Overall Rating | 4.53/5 | | Total Reviews | 19 | | Confidence | Low | | Pricing Model | Free | | Platforms | iOS | | Key Features | 3 analyzed | | Outlook | Stable | ## Competitor Comparison | App | Rating | Sentiment | Developer | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Primer 2 Synth** (this app) | 4.53/5 | N/A | Audible Genius | | [SyncTimer - Ensemble Stopwatch](https://marlvel.ai/apps/synctimer-ensemble-stopwatch) | 5.0/5 | Thrilled | Sebastian Suarez-Solis | | [ヨルシカ](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-yorushika-sp) | 4.8/5 | N/A | Fanplus, Inc. | | [あいみょん](https://marlvel.ai/apps/net-aimyong-sp) | 4.5/5 | N/A | Fanplus, Inc. | | [イントリズム](https://marlvel.ai/apps/jp-rc-into-rhythm) | 3.5/5 | N/A | RedinC | | [クリープハイプ](https://marlvel.ai/apps/creephyp-sp-browsingapp) | N/A/5 | N/A | Fanplus, Inc. | ## Company Profile - **Developer:** Audible Genius - **Website:** [https://www.syntorial.com/primer](https://www.syntorial.com/primer) - **Social:** [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/audiblegenius) · [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/Audiblegenius) · [X/Twitter](https://twitter.com/audiblegenius) · [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch) · [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/@audiblegenius) · [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/audiblegenius) ## Data Sources & Links - **App Store:** [View on Apple Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/primer-2-synth/id6449504308?uo=4) - **Dev Site:** [Official Website](https://www.syntorial.com/primer) - **Sources:** Developer website content, App store metadata. ## Related Intel Reports - [*SyncTimer - Ensemble Stopwatch*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/synctimer-ensemble-stopwatch) (Sebastian Suarez-Solis) · 5.0/5 Rating | Excellent Sentiment - [*ヨルシカ*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-yorushika-sp) (Fanplus, Inc.) · 4.8/5 Rating - [*あいみょん*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/net-aimyong-sp) (Fanplus, Inc.) · 4.5/5 Rating - [*イントリズム*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/jp-rc-into-rhythm) (RedinC) · 3.5/5 Rating - [*クリープハイプ*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/creephyp-sp-browsingapp) (Fanplus, Inc.) · N/A Rating - [*マカロニえんぴつ*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-macaroniempitsu-fc) (Fanplus, Inc.) · 3.1/5 Rating - [*100.1 Jack FM*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/100-1-jack-fm) (NRG Media) · 1.0/5 Rating - [*100.1 WJRZ*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/100-1-wjrz) (Beasley Broadcast Group) · 4.8/5 Rating | Excellent Sentiment - [*100.3 The Wolf*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/100-3-the-wolf) (SummitMedia, LLC) · 4.1/5 Rating - [*100.7 KIK-FM*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/100-7-kik-fm) (Hubbard Radio) · 4.3/5 Rating ## Frequently Asked Questions {#faq} ### Is Primer 2 Synth suitable for professional music production? Primer 2 Synth is designed as an educational, subtractive synthesizer. While its AUV3 extension allows for integration into professional DAWs like Garageband, its limited feature set and maintenance-only status make it more suitable for learning synthesis or quick sketching than for primary professional sound design. ### How does Primer 2 Synth compare to other mobile synthesizers? Primer 2 Synth focuses on simplicity and educational value, replicating the controls found in the Syntorial training app. Unlike many modern mobile synths that receive frequent updates and new features, Primer 2 Synth provides a static, essential subtractive synthesis experience. ### Are there any costs associated with using Primer 2 Synth? Primer 2 Synth is a fully free application. It includes the standalone app and the AUV3 extension at no cost, serving as a brand-awareness tool for the developer's paid training platform. ## Methodology {#methodology} This report was generated by Marlvel.ai's 5-stage AI intelligence pipeline: 1. **Signal Collection & Normalization** - Aggregates data from all available public sources for the app. Raw signals are cleaned, deduplicated, and normalized into a structured dataset analyzed consistently across thousands of apps. 2. **Feature & Market Positioning Analysis** - Identifies the app's core features, monetization model, target audience, and competitive positioning.
