The absence of monetization gates distinguishes it from rivals that gate sensor-based features behind subscription tiers. ## Monetization Strategy - **Model:** Free - **Tiers:** Free version with no listed in-app purchases - **Analysis:** The app is distributed as a free utility with no visible monetization gates or subscription tiers. ## SWOT Analysis {#swot} **Core Strengths:** - Zero-cost distribution model removes financial barriers for casual users **Growth Levers:** - Offline map caching could differentiate the utility from standard GPS-only tools ## Recent Changes (v2 → v3) {#recent-changes} The app remains in a static, maintenance-only state with no functional or pricing changes. The primary shift is a more precise articulation of competitive threats and a transition in the outlook trend from declining to stable. **Overall trend**: Stable **Compared at**: 2026-08-29 ### Medium-impact changes - **[Shifted] Competitive Threat Articulation** (swot) ### Low-impact changes - **[Shifted] Outlook Trend Adjustment** (positioning) ## What's New - **Latest (v1.2.5, 1 years ago):** General user experience optimizations. ## App Momentum (Zombie) {#momentum} - No feature updates in 16 months. - Maintenance-only cadence since April 2025. > **Cadence:** 1 total versions · 0 majors in last 6 months · 508 days since last update ## The "So What?" (Strategic Takeaway) {#so-what} Altimeter GPS Barometer is a navigation app that is completely free. > **Bottom Line:** Altimeter GPS Barometer serves as a functional, no-cost utility for basic elevation tracking, but the lack of recent updates leaves its long-term reliability exposed to future platform changes. **Best for:** Outdoor enthusiasts and travelers requiring basic altitude, location, and atmospheric data. ### PM Action Plan (Next Best Moves) - [ ] [MAINTAIN] Audit OS-level compatibility because the 16-month development gap risks future crashes → maintain baseline reliability ### Outlook: Stable The navigation utility market is consolidating around apps that provide integrated sensor-fusion and cloud-synced mapping, leaving simple barometric tools like Altimeter GPS Barometer in a static, low-growth position. The lack of recent updates suggests the app will remain a niche, zero-cost alternative rather than a primary navigation tool for most users. - ⚪ The 16-month development gap indicates a maintenance-only posture, which preserves the current utility but prevents expansion into competitive feature sets. ## Key Metrics Summary | Metric | Value | | :--- | :--- | | Total Reviews | 0 | | Confidence | Low | | Pricing Model | Free | | Platforms | iOS | | Key Features | 3 analyzed | | Trend | Stable | | Outlook | Stable | ## Competitor Comparison | App | Rating | Sentiment | Developer | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Altimeter GPS Barometer** (this app) | N/A/5 | N/A | 静华 黄 | | [Google Maps](https://marlvel.ai/apps/google-maps) | 4.0/5 | Mixed | Google | | [전국 시외버스 승차권 통합 예매(버스타고)](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-ebcard-bustago) | 1.6/5 | N/A | EZL Corp. | | [손편지 - 내 손안에 편의점 지도](https://marlvel.ai/apps/app--288) | N/A/5 | N/A | GEONJU CHOI | | [탐나는맵](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-tamnann-tamnannmapapp) | 3.3/5 | N/A | hyunseo Jung | | [10-4 by WEX](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-wex-backoff) | 4.8/5 | N/A | WEX, Inc. | ## Company Profile - **Developer:** 静华 黄 - **Website:** [https://rollin0-0.github.io](https://rollin0-0.github.io) ## Data Sources & Links - **App Store:** [View on Apple Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/altimeter-gps-barometer/id6475106813?uo=4) - **Dev Site:** [Official Website](https://rollin0-0.github.io) - **Sources:** Developer website content, App store metadata. ## Related Intel Reports - [*Google Maps*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/google-maps) (Google) · 4.0/5 Rating - [*전국 시외버스 승차권 통합 예매(버스타고)*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-ebcard-bustago) (EZL Corp.) · 1.6/5 Rating - [*손편지 - 내 손안에 편의점 지도*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/app--288) (GEONJU CHOI) · N/A Rating - [*탐나는맵*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-tamnann-tamnannmapapp) (hyunseo Jung) · 3.3/5 Rating - [*10-4 by WEX*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-wex-backoff) (WEX, Inc.) · 4.8/5 Rating - [*13:20:Sync*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-redhouseamsterdam-mayaapp) (The RedHouse Apps) · 4.9/5 Rating - [*23d GPS*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/23d-gps) (Shane Moore) · N/A Rating - [*360Finder - Real-time Locator*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/360finder-real-time-locator) (HONG KONG NOBLE LIMITED) · N/A Rating - [*3D Earth Map Street View*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-naikurrehman-globeapp) (Naik Ur Rehman) · 4.7/5 Rating - [*3D GIS Digital Elevation Model*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-ladesignes-3dgis) (Andres Narvaez) · 3.0/5 Rating ## Frequently Asked Questions {#faq} ### Is Altimeter GPS Barometer free to use?
