The reliance on a subscription gate for basic sensor utility creates a significant friction point against free, platform-native alternatives. ## Monetization Strategy - **Model:** Subscription - **Tiers:** Free tier with ads, Premium annual subscription - **Analysis:** Subscription model gates all core functionality and removes ads, requiring an annual commitment. ## SWOT Analysis {#swot} **Core Strengths:** - Sensor-based altitude tracking provides specialized utility for mountaineers **Growth Levers:** - Localized pricing could capture users in high-ARPU navigation markets ## What's New - **Latest (v1.1, 1 years ago):** Optimized the internal calculation algorithm for improved performance. ## App Momentum (Zombie) {#momentum} - Dormant development for 21 months. - No major feature releases since 2024. > **Cadence:** 1 total versions · 0 majors in last 6 months · 655 days since last update ## The "So What?" (Strategic Takeaway) {#so-what} Compass Altitude is a navigation app. > **Bottom Line:** Compass Altitude serves a niche audience, but the lack of development since 2024 suggests the product is in sunset mode. The PM should focus on maintaining existing subscription revenue rather than investing in new features, as the current utility is already commoditized by platform-native tools. **Best for:** Outdoor enthusiasts, mountaineers, and travelers requiring altitude and location tracking in remote or urban environments. ### PM Action Plan (Next Best Moves) - [ ] [SUNSET] Sunset the product because the 21-month development gap indicates a lack of strategic priority → minimize support overhead ### Outlook: Declining The navigation utility market is consolidating around platform-native tools that provide free, high-accuracy altitude and location data. Compass Altitude is poorly positioned to compete, as its subscription-gated model offers no unique value to justify the cost over free alternatives. - 🔴 The 21-month update gap indicates a lack of feature investment, which accelerates churn as platform-native navigation tools improve their sensor-based accuracy. ## Key Metrics Summary | Metric | Value | | :--- | :--- | | Total Reviews | 0 | | Confidence | Low | | Pricing Model | Subscription | | Platforms | iOS | | Key Features | 3 analyzed | | Outlook | Declining | ## Competitor Comparison | App | Rating | Sentiment | Developer | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Compass Altitude** (this app) | N/A/5 | N/A | 连喜 罗 | | [CDOT Colorado Road Cameras](https://marlvel.ai/apps/cdot-colorado-road-cameras) | 5.0/5 | N/A | Brite Technologies | | [Find My Friends Phone - iMapp](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-unwite-onthemap) | 4.2/5 | Mixed | Awared SLU | | [전국 시외버스 승차권 통합 예매(버스타고)](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-ebcard-bustago) | 1.6/5 | N/A | EZL Corp. | | [손편지 - 내 손안에 편의점 지도](https://marlvel.ai/apps/app--288) | N/A/5 | N/A | GEONJU CHOI | | [탐나는맵](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-tamnann-tamnannmapapp) | 3.3/5 | N/A | hyunseo Jung | ## Company Profile - **Developer:** 连喜 罗 ## Data Sources & Links - **App Store:** [View on Apple Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/compass-altitude/id6738635300?uo=4) - **Sources:** App store metadata. ## Related Intel Reports - [*CDOT Colorado Road Cameras*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/cdot-colorado-road-cameras) (Brite Technologies) · 5.0/5 Rating - [*Find My Friends Phone - iMapp*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-unwite-onthemap) (Awared SLU) · 4.2/5 Rating - [*전국 시외버스 승차권 통합 예매(버스타고)*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-ebcard-bustago) (EZL Corp.) · 1.6/5 Rating - [*손편지 - 내 손안에 편의점 지도*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/app--288) (GEONJU CHOI) · N/A Rating - [*탐나는맵*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-tamnann-tamnannmapapp) (hyunseo Jung) · 3.3/5 Rating - [*0-60 Drag Race Timer: GPS*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/0-60-drag-race-timer-gps) (Rui Pedro Correia) · N/A Rating | Excellent Sentiment - [*10-4 by WEX*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-wex-backoff) (WEX, Inc.) · 4.8/5 Rating - [*13:20:Sync*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-redhouseamsterdam-mayaapp) (The RedHouse Apps) · 4.9/5 Rating - [*23d GPS*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/23d-gps) (Shane Moore) · N/A Rating - [*360Finder - Real-time Locator*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/360finder-real-time-locator) (HONG KONG NOBLE LIMITED) · N/A Rating ## Frequently Asked Questions {#faq} ### Is Compass Altitude free to use?
