(Strategic Takeaway) {#so-what} Island News KITV4 is a news & magazines app that is completely free. With a 4.63/5 rating from 1.1K reviews, it draws more critical themes in recent reviews than its store average suggests. > **Bottom Line:** Island News KITV4 must prioritize navigation and ad-dismissal stability to prevent further user churn. Addressing these technical regressions will unlock the retention potential of the app's local investigative content, which remains the primary reason for continued viewership. **Best for:** Residents of Hawaii and individuals interested in local news, weather, and community events in Honolulu, Kauai, and Maui. ### PM Action Plan (Next Best Moves) - [ ] [INVEST] Fix notification deep-linking because it is the #1 navigation complaint → increase session conversion ### Outlook: Declining The local news market in Hawaii is consolidating around digital-first experiences, and Island News KITV4's maintenance-mode cadence leaves it vulnerable to more agile competitors. Without addressing the core navigation and ad-insertion friction, the app will continue to lose its local audience to more stable alternatives. - 🔴 Persistent technical instability and broken notification routing drive users to delete the app, which compounds the negative rating trend. - 🔴 Aggressive ad-insertion prevents content consumption, leading to a decline in active usage despite the high value of local news content. ## Key Metrics Summary | Metric | Value | | :--- | :--- | | Overall Rating | 4.63/5 | | Total Reviews | 1.1K | | Sentiment | Frustrated (35/100) | | Confidence | High | | Pricing Model | Free | | Platforms | iOS & Android | | Key Features | 3 analyzed | | Outlook | Declining | ## Competitor Comparison | App | Rating | Sentiment | Developer | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Island News KITV4** (this app) | 4.63/5 | Frustrated | Allen Media Broadcasting | | [조선일보](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-chosunmedia-android) | 3.0/5 | N/A | Chosunilbo | | [헤이버니 | 나에게 도착한 오늘의 취향](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-twigfarm-heybunny) | 3.9/5 | N/A | Twig Farm Co.,Ltd. | | [키워드뉴스 - 원하는 관심뉴스만 쏙쏙](https://marlvel.ai/apps/fun-rebecca-kwdnews) | 4.1/5 | N/A | Keyword News | | [12 News KPNX Arizona](https://marlvel.ai/apps/12-news-kpnx-arizona-1) | 4.6/5 | Mixed | TEGNA | | [1TV Armenia](https://marlvel.ai/apps/am-tv1) | 4.2/5 | N/A | Armenian Public TV | ## Company Profile - **Developer:** Allen Media Broadcasting - **Website:** [https://www.kitv.com/](https://www.kitv.com/) - **Social:** [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/kitv4) · [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/KITV4) · [X/Twitter](https://twitter.com/KITV4) · [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/c/kitv) · [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/@island.news) ## Data Sources & Links - **App Store:** [View on Apple Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/island-news-kitv4/id1590674862?uo=4) - **Google Play:** [View on Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobdub.channel.KITV&hl=en&gl=us) - **Dev Site:** [Official Website](https://www.kitv.com/) - **Sources:** Developer website content, About us / company information, App store metadata, User reviews. ## Related Intel Reports - [*조선일보*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-chosunmedia-android) (Chosunilbo) · 3.0/5 Rating - [*헤이버니 | 나에게 도착한 오늘의 취향*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-twigfarm-heybunny) (Twig Farm Co.,Ltd.) · 3.9/5 Rating - [*키워드뉴스 - 원하는 관심뉴스만 쏙쏙*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/fun-rebecca-kwdnews) (Keyword News) · 4.1/5 Rating - [*12 News KPNX Arizona*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/12-news-kpnx-arizona-1) (TEGNA) · 4.6/5 Rating - [*1TV Armenia*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/am-tv1) (Armenian Public TV) · 4.2/5 Rating - [*1Twente*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/nl-eentwente-app) (Streekomroep Twente) · 4.1/5 Rating - [*24 TV - Canlı TV & Haberler*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/tv-yirmidort-android) (TürkMedya Yayıncılık) · 4.2/5 Rating - [*9 Канал | Channel 9*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/co-pushapp-ninetv) (Channel 9) · 2.6/5 Rating - [*Aachener Zeitung E-Paper*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/de-zvadigital-epaper-viewer-gui) (Mediahuis Aachen GmbH) · 2.8/5 Rating - [*ABC13 Houston*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/abc13-houston) (Disney) · 4.5/5 Rating ## Frequently Asked Questions {#faq} ### Is Island News KITV4 free to use?
