(Strategic Takeaway) {#so-what} NBC10 Boston: News & Weather is a news & magazines app that is completely free. With a 4.3/5 rating from 992 reviews, it draws more critical themes in recent reviews than its store average suggests. > **Bottom Line:** NBC10 Boston rests on the utility of its weather radar, but playback instability and aggressive ad-load create a churn risk that outweighs the content value. Stabilizing the core video experience would unlock higher daily active usage and improve the current category rank. **Best for:** Residents of Boston, Massachusetts, and the broader New England region seeking local news, weather, and public safety updates. ### PM Action Plan (Next Best Moves) - [ ] [INVEST] Rebuild video playback logic because playback crashes are the top-cited technical complaint → reduce churn ### Outlook: Mixed Local news apps are consolidating around high-utility, low-friction experiences, and NBC10 Boston's current stability issues leave it exposed to faster-loading aggregators. Addressing the playback and notification-control complaints is necessary to prevent further erosion of the user base into the next quarter. - 🔴 Frequent playback crashes during news segments erode the daily active habit, which compounds the rating drag already visible on Android. - ⚪ The latest release focused on radar synchronization, indicating a maintenance-only cadence rather than active feature expansion. ## Key Metrics Summary | Metric | Value | | :--- | :--- | | Overall Rating | 4.3/5 | | Total Reviews | 992 | | Sentiment | Frustrated (25/100) | | Confidence | High | | Pricing Model | Free | | Platforms | iOS & Android | | Key Features | 3 analyzed | | Trend | Stable | | Outlook | Mixed | ## Competitor Comparison | App | Rating | Sentiment | Developer | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **NBC10 Boston: News & Weather** (this app) | 4.3/5 | Frustrated | NBCUniversal Media, LLC | | [조선일보](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-chosunmedia-android) | 3.0/5 | N/A | Chosunilbo | | [헤이버니 | 나에게 도착한 오늘의 취향](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-twigfarm-heybunny) | 3.9/5 | N/A | Twig Farm Co.,Ltd. | | [키워드뉴스 - 원하는 관심뉴스만 쏙쏙](https://marlvel.ai/apps/fun-rebecca-kwdnews) | 4.1/5 | N/A | Keyword News | | [1TV Armenia](https://marlvel.ai/apps/am-tv1) | 4.2/5 | N/A | Armenian Public TV | | [1Twente](https://marlvel.ai/apps/nl-eentwente-app) | 4.1/5 | N/A | Streekomroep Twente | ## Company Profile - **Developer:** NBCUniversal Media, LLC - **Website:** [https://www.nbcboston.com](https://www.nbcboston.com) - **Social:** [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/mapbox) · [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/NBC10Boston) · [X/Twitter](https://twitter.com/mapbox) · [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIHl9sd2brgvjBlSETKYDcg) · [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/@nbc10boston) · [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/mapbox) · [Discord](https://discord.gg/sBBksyMjcd) ## Data Sources & Links - **App Store:** [View on Apple Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/nbc10-boston-news-weather/id1176170313?uo=4) - **Google Play:** [View on Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nbcuni.nbcots.nbcboston.android&hl=en&gl=us) - **Dev Site:** [Official Website](https://www.nbcboston.com) - **Sources:** Developer website content, About us / company information, App store metadata, User reviews. ## Related Intel Reports - [*조선일보*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-chosunmedia-android) (Chosunilbo) · 3.0/5 Rating - [*헤이버니 | 나에게 도착한 오늘의 취향*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-twigfarm-heybunny) (Twig Farm Co.,Ltd.) · 3.9/5 Rating - [*키워드뉴스 - 원하는 관심뉴스만 쏙쏙*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/fun-rebecca-kwdnews) (Keyword News) · 4.1/5 Rating - [*1TV Armenia*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/am-tv1) (Armenian Public TV) · 4.2/5 Rating - [*1Twente*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/nl-eentwente-app) (Streekomroep Twente) · 4.1/5 Rating - [*24 TV - Canlı TV & Haberler*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/tv-yirmidort-android) (TürkMedya Yayıncılık) · 4.2/5 Rating - [*9 Канал | Channel 9*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/co-pushapp-ninetv) (Channel 9) · 2.6/5 Rating - [*Aachener Zeitung E-Paper*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/de-zvadigital-epaper-viewer-gui) (Mediahuis Aachen GmbH) · 2.8/5 Rating - [*ABC13 Houston*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/abc13-houston) (Disney) · 4.5/5 Rating - [*ABC7 Chicago*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/abc7-chicago) (Disney) · 4.3/5 Rating ## Frequently Asked Questions {#faq} ### Is NBC10 Boston free to use?
