(Strategic Takeaway) {#so-what} EXILIM Remote is a photo & video app that is completely free. With a 1.67/5 rating from 6 reviews, it faces significant user friction. > **Bottom Line:** EXILIM Remote is functionally obsolete due to persistent connectivity failures and a lack of updates since 2017, so the developer should sunset the application to avoid further brand erosion among legacy hardware users. **Best for:** Owners of legacy CASIO EXILIM digital camera models. ### PM Action Plan (Next Best Moves) - [ ] [SUNSET] Sunset the application because it is functionally obsolete and lacks updates since 2017 → remove brand drag ### Feature Gaps vs Competitors - Real-time professional media syncing (available in Blackmagic Camera Control but absent here) ### Outlook: Declining The market for legacy camera utilities is shrinking as professional-grade apps with active development cycles dominate the space. Continued neglect of the app's connectivity issues will lead to total user churn, so the PM must prioritize a clean sunset to protect the CASIO brand reputation. - 🔴 Persistent connectivity failures reported by users → inability to perform core functions → total loss of utility for the remaining user base. ## Key Metrics Summary | Metric | Value | | :--- | :--- | | Overall Rating | 1.67/5 | | Total Reviews | 6 | | Sentiment | Frustrated (20/100) | | Confidence | Low | | Pricing Model | Free | | Platforms | iOS | | Key Features | 2 analyzed | | Trend | Declining | | Outlook | Declining | ## Competitor Comparison | App | Rating | Sentiment | Developer | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **EXILIM Remote** (this app) | 1.67/5 | Frustrated | CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. | | [Light Meter by WBPhoto](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-willblaschko-ios-lightmeterv2-pro) | 4.4/5 | Mixed | William Blaschko | | [Zone System](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-davin-zonesystem) | 5.0/5 | N/A | Davin Nguyen | | [DADAM132: Digital Watch Face](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-watchfacestudio-dadam132) | N/A/5 | N/A | DADAM Watch Faces | | [Blackmagic Camera Control](https://marlvel.ai/apps/blackmagic-camera-control) | 4.5/5 | n/a | Blackmagic Design Inc | | [Planeskeeper](https://marlvel.ai/apps/planeskeeper) | N/A/5 | N/A | Jeffery Galen Reed | ## Company Profile - **Developer:** CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. ## Data Sources & Links - **App Store:** [View on Apple Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/exilim-remote/id640856022?uo=4) - **Sources:** App store metadata, User reviews. ## Related Intel Reports - [*Light Meter by WBPhoto*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-willblaschko-ios-lightmeterv2-pro) (William Blaschko) · 4.4/5 Rating - [*Zone System*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-davin-zonesystem) (Davin Nguyen) · 5.0/5 Rating - [*DADAM132: Digital Watch Face*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-watchfacestudio-dadam132) (DADAM Watch Faces) · N/A Rating - [*Blackmagic Camera Control*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/blackmagic-camera-control) (Blackmagic Design Inc) · 4.5/5 Rating - [*Planeskeeper*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/planeskeeper) (Jeffery Galen Reed) · N/A Rating - [*GR WORLD*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/gr-world) (RICOH IMAGING COMPANY,LTD) · 2.2/5 Rating - [*SCamera Pro*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/scamera-pro) (TotalContent) · 4.6/5 Rating - [*Steady Cam: Horizon Lock*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/steady-cam-horizon-lock) (NOOR HOOR BUILDERS & MARBLES ( PRIVATE ) LIMITED) · 3.7/5 Rating - [*ATOMOS - Remote*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/atomos-remote) (Atomos Ltd.) · 3.2/5 Rating - [*PhotoShelter*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/photoshelter) (PhotoShelter) · 2.3/5 Rating ## Methodology {#methodology} This report was generated by Marlvel.ai's 5-stage AI intelligence pipeline: 1. **Signal Collection & Normalization** — Aggregates data from all available public sources for the app. Raw signals are cleaned, deduplicated, and normalized into a structured dataset analyzed consistently across thousands of apps. 2. **Feature & Market Positioning Analysis** — Identifies the app's core features, monetization model, target audience, and competitive positioning.
