With a 4.2/5 rating from 30 reviews, it shows mixed user reception. > **Bottom Line:** Maintaining the ad-free, no-subscription model is the core value proposition, but the lack of updates to fix metadata and formatting bugs risks alienating the power users who rely on EZText for document management. **Best for:** iPhone and iPad users requiring a lightweight, multi-format text editor for local and cloud-based file management. ### PM Action Plan (Next Best Moves) - [ ] [INVEST] Audit metadata handling because incorrect creation timestamps force manual desktop corrections → improve reliability ### Outlook: Stable The productivity market is consolidating around tools that offer seamless cloud-sync and reliable formatting, leaving EZText exposed due to its stagnant release cadence. Without addressing the reported metadata and UI regressions, the app will likely struggle to retain users who require a dependable, rather than just free, text editor. - 🔴 The five-month gap in feature development suggests the app is in maintenance mode, which limits its ability to respond to user-requested zoom functionality. - 🔴 Persistent metadata and formatting bugs remain unaddressed, which compounds the frustration for users who rely on the app for consistent document management. ## Key Metrics Summary | Metric | Value | | :--- | :--- | | Overall Rating | 4.2/5 | | Total Reviews | 30 | | Sentiment | Mixed (55/100) | | Confidence | Medium | | Pricing Model | Free | | Platforms | iOS | | Key Features | 3 analyzed | | Outlook | Stable | ## Competitor Comparison | App | Rating | Sentiment | Developer | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **EZText - Text Editor** (this app) | 4.2/5 | Mixed | Mark Krenek | | [ChatGPT](https://marlvel.ai/apps/chatgpt) | 4.8/5 | n/a | OpenAI OpCo, LLC | | [Clean Swell](https://marlvel.ai/apps/clean-swell) | 3.9/5 | n/a | Ocean Conservancy | | [HitWave](https://marlvel.ai/apps/ciendor-applications-hitwave) | 2.5/5 | Mixed | Ciendor Holdings Corp.
