The subscription-gated cloud features position the app as a B2B tool for clubs rather than a consumer-facing sailing tracker. ## Monetization Strategy - **Model:** Freemium - **Tiers:** Free for Beer Can style regattas, Monthly or yearly subscription for unlimited regattas, races, and cloud-based registration - **Analysis:** The freemium model allows free usage for casual events while gating high-volume club management features behind a subscription. ## SWOT Analysis {#swot} **Core Strengths:** - AR buoy finder provides technical superiority over manual course design - ORC certificate integration reduces manual data entry for race officers **Growth Levers:** - Expansion into non-ORC rating systems could broaden the addressable club market ## What's New - **Latest (v2.0.6, 6 months ago):** Added CSV boat import with column mapping functionality. ## App Momentum (Maintenance) {#momentum} - Ships bug fixes at maintenance cadence. - Added CSV boat import mapping functionality. > **Cadence:** 1 total versions · 0 majors in last 6 months · 198 days since last update ## The "So What?" (Strategic Takeaway) {#so-what} Regatta Manager is a sports app that is free with in-app purchases. > **Bottom Line:** Regatta Manager holds a strong technical position for ORC-compliant regattas, but the current maintenance-mode development cadence risks losing ground to web-based rivals. Shifting focus to broader rating system support would unlock the wider club market and justify the subscription model. **Best for:** Professional race officers, sailing club organizers, and volunteers managing regatta logistics. ### PM Action Plan (Next Best Moves) - [ ] [INVEST] Audit cloud-registration conversion funnel because the subscription gate is the primary revenue driver → increase MRR ### Outlook: Stable The regatta management market is shifting toward integrated, web-based registration that minimizes participant friction. Regatta Manager remains advantaged in professional ORC regattas, but the lack of recent feature expansion leaves it exposed to web-native competitors that can iterate faster. - ⚪ The 198-day update cadence indicates a shift toward maintenance, which limits the ability to respond to new RRS rule interpretations. - 🟢 Integration with ORC certificates creates a high switching cost for professional race officers, securing the current user base against casual alternatives. ## Key Metrics Summary | Metric | Value | | :--- | :--- | | Total Reviews | 0 | | Confidence | Low | | Pricing Model | Freemium | | Platforms | iOS | | Key Features | 3 analyzed | | Outlook | Stable | ## Competitor Comparison | App | Rating | Sentiment | Developer | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Regatta Manager** (this app) | N/A/5 | N/A | Polar Sailing LLC | | [DraftKings Predictions](https://marlvel.ai/apps/draftkings-predictions) | 4.8/5 | Mixed | DraftKings | | [DraftKings: Sports & Casino](https://marlvel.ai/apps/draftkings-sportsbook-casino) | 4.8/5 | n/a | DraftKings | | [FanDuel Predicts](https://marlvel.ai/apps/fanduel-predicts) | 4.8/5 | n/a | FanDuel, Inc. | | [Fish AI - AI Fishing App](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-fishai-app) | 4.7/5 | n/a | GymBros Inc. | | [NBA: Live Games & Scores](https://marlvel.ai/apps/nba-live-games-scores) | 4.6/5 | Mixed | NBA MEDIA VENTURES, LLC | ## Company Profile - **Developer:** Polar Sailing LLC - **Website:** [https://polarsailing.ai](https://polarsailing.ai) ## Data Sources & Links - **App Store:** [View on Apple Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/regatta-manager/id6738297374?uo=4) - **Dev Site:** [Official Website](https://polarsailing.ai) - **Sources:** Developer website content, About us / company information, App store metadata. ## Related Intel Reports - [*DraftKings Predictions*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/draftkings-predictions) (DraftKings) · 4.8/5 Rating - [*DraftKings: Sports & Casino*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/draftkings-sportsbook-casino) (DraftKings) · 4.8/5 Rating - [*FanDuel Predicts*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/fanduel-predicts) (FanDuel, Inc.) · 4.8/5 Rating - [*Fish AI - AI Fishing App*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-fishai-app) (GymBros Inc.) · 4.7/5 Rating - [*NBA: Live Games & Scores*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/nba-live-games-scores) (NBA MEDIA VENTURES, LLC) · 4.6/5 Rating - [*PrizePicks - Sports Picks*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/prizepicks-sports-picks) (SidePrize, LLC) · 4.5/5 Rating - [*Sporttrade: Prediction Markets*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/sporttrade-prediction-markets) (SPORTTRADE INC) · 4.7/5 Rating | Positive Sentiment - [*플레이공*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-tychesoft-playball) (Tychesoft) · N/A Rating - [*더블이글 - 요즘 골프예약*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-albatrss-de) (Double Eagle Inc.) · 4.0/5 Rating - [*테니스타운*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-momzit-tennistown) (link.tennistown) · 3.5/5 Rating ## Frequently Asked Questions {#faq} ### Is Regatta Manager free to use for my sailing club?
