It serves as a digital training aid for new users and dive schools, featuring a unique virtual dive simulator. (Strategic Takeaway) {#so-what} Suunto Dive Learning Tools – Teach yourself how to set up and use the Suunto D4i Novo, Vyper Novo and Zoop Novo. is a sports app that is completely free. With a 2.7/5 rating from 10 reviews, it faces significant user friction. > **Bottom Line:** Suunto Dive Learning Tools is a neglected legacy asset that currently serves as a poor touchpoint for the brand. While the virtual simulator is a strong conceptual differentiator, the 8-year gap in updates and lack of modern features like Bluetooth syncing mean it is losing users to Garmin's superior software ecosystem. **Best for:** New or existing owners of Suunto D4i Novo, Vyper Novo, and Zoop Novo dive computers, and dive instructors. ### PM Action Plan (Next Best Moves) - [ ] [HIGH] Audit for Sunset or Overhaul ### Feature Gaps vs Competitors - Map-based dive site discovery (available in Garmin Dive) ### Outlook: Declining - 🔴 Last updated July 2016 — indicates the app is in maintenance mode or abandoned. - 🔴 2.7-star rating with only 10 reviews — suggests low utility and poor user satisfaction. ## Key Metrics Summary | Metric | Value | | :--- | :--- | | Overall Rating | 2.7/5 | | Total Reviews | 10 | | Sentiment | Frustrated (27/100) | | Confidence | Low | | Pricing Model | Free | | Platforms | iOS | | Key Features | 3 analyzed | | Outlook | Declining | ## Competitor Comparison | App | Rating | Sentiment | Developer | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Suunto Dive Learning Tools – Teach yourself how to set up and use the Suunto D4i Novo, Vyper Novo and Zoop Novo.** (this app) | 2.7/5 | Frustrated | Suunto | | [Scuba Diving Computer Oceanic+](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-huishoutdoors-oceanic) | 4.4/5 | N/A | Huish Outdoors, LLC | | [Garmin Dive™](https://marlvel.ai/apps/garmin-dive) | 4.8/5 | N/A | Garmin | | [Sporttrade: Prediction Markets](https://marlvel.ai/apps/sporttrade-prediction-markets) | 4.7/5 | Excited | SPORTTRADE INC | | [FanDuel Predicts](https://marlvel.ai/apps/fanduel-predicts) | 4.8/5 | n/a | FanDuel, Inc. | | [NBA: Live Games & Scores](https://marlvel.ai/apps/nba-live-games-scores) | 4.5/5 | n/a | NBA MEDIA VENTURES, LLC | ## Company Profile - **Developer:** Suunto - **Website:** [https://www.suunto.com/dive/](https://www.suunto.com/dive/) - **Social:** [Instagram](https://instagram.com/suunto) · [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/Suunto) · [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/suuntoTV) · [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/@suuntoglobal) ## Data Sources & Links - **App Store:** [View on Apple Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/suunto-dive-learning-tools-teach-yourself-how-to-set/id911410807?uo=4) - **Dev Site:** [Official Website](https://www.suunto.com/dive/) - **Sources:** Developer website content, About us / company information, App store metadata. ## Related Intel Reports - [*Scuba Diving Computer Oceanic+*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-huishoutdoors-oceanic) (Huish Outdoors, LLC) · 4.4/5 Rating - [*Garmin Dive™*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/garmin-dive) (Garmin) · 4.8/5 Rating - [*Sporttrade: Prediction Markets*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/sporttrade-prediction-markets) (SPORTTRADE INC) · 4.7/5 Rating | Positive Sentiment - [*FanDuel Predicts*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/fanduel-predicts) (FanDuel, Inc.) · 4.8/5 Rating - [*NBA: Live Games & Scores*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/nba-live-games-scores) (NBA MEDIA VENTURES, LLC) · 4.5/5 Rating - [*PrizePicks - Sports Picks*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/prizepicks-sports-picks) (SidePrize, LLC) · 4.5/5 Rating - [*DraftKings Sportsbook & Casino*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/draftkings-sportsbook-casino) (DraftKings) · 4.8/5 Rating - [*DraftKings Predictions*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/draftkings-predictions) (DraftKings) · 4.5/5 Rating - [*MLive: Detroit Pistons News*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/mlive-detroit-pistons-news) (MLive.com) · 3.5/5 Rating - [*BallerCam*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-getballer-ballercam) (Baller, Inc.) · 4.8/5 Rating | Excellent Sentiment ## Frequently Asked Questions ### Is this app useful for the Suunto EON Core or D5? No. Based on the feature analysis, this app specifically only supports the D4i Novo, Vyper Novo, and Zoop Novo models. It has not been updated since 2016 to include newer Suunto hardware. ### Does Suunto Dive Learning Tools sync my actual dive logs? No. This app is an educational simulator and tutorial tool. Unlike Garmin Dive, it does not support Bluetooth syncing or digital log storage from your physical dive computer. ### Will this app work on the latest version of iOS? Likely not reliably. The app was last updated in July 2016 (v1.2). Users should expect compatibility issues, as it has not been optimized for modern iPhone screens or operating systems. ### What is a better alternative for logging dives on iPhone? If you use an Apple Watch Ultra, Oceanic+ is a modern alternative. For hardware-agnostic logging and social features, Garmin Dive is the current market leader, though it requires Garmin hardware for full syncing. ## Methodology {#methodology} This report was generated by Marlvel.ai's 3-stage AI intelligence pipeline: 1. **Feature & Positioning Extraction** — Analyzes app metadata, developer website content, and version history to identify key features, target audience, and competitive positioning. 2. **Sentiment Analysis** — Processes user reviews (minimum 5 reviews required) to extract praise themes, complaint themes, and overall sentiment as synthesised themes (no verbatim quotes). 3. **Intelligence Synthesis** — Combines stages 1 & 2 with App Store rankings to produce SWOT analysis, executive summary, and actionable insights. - **Confidence Score:** 0.45/1.0 (based on review volume, data source diversity, and signal quality) - **Reviews Analyzed:** 10 - **Data Sources:** developer website, company about page, App Store metadata - **Rating Method:** Weighted average across platforms (iOS & Android), weighted by review count per platform - **Independence:** Fully independent analysis.
