The absence of recent major updates (162 days) contrasts with the active feature requirements of professional land management segments. ## Monetization Strategy - **Model:** Subscription - **Tiers:** Free tier with basic functionality, Subscription-based model with auto-renewing terms - **Analysis:** Subscription model relies on auto-renewing terms managed via iTunes account settings. ## SWOT Analysis {#swot} **Core Strengths:** - Offline altitude calculation functions as a B2B distribution barrier into remote field-work segments. **Growth Levers:** - Localized pricing in high-ARPU agricultural markets could capture value where generalist rivals lack regional focus. ## Recent Changes (v2 → v3) {#recent-changes} Distance Tool pivoted to a subscription-based revenue model and repositioned core field-surveying capabilities as competitive differentiators. This shift targets professional land management segments while moving away from the previous generalist mapping utility positioning. **Overall trend**: Mixed **Compared at**: 2026-08-19 ### High-impact changes - **[Shifted] Subscription Model Adoption** (pricing) - **[Improved] Feature Repositioning** (features) ### Medium-impact changes - **[Added] Follow Mode Integration** (features) - **[Shifted] Professional Audience Narrowing** (audience) ## App Momentum (Active) {#momentum} - Ships bug fixes and improvements. - Last store update 162 days ago. > **Cadence:** 5 total versions · 0 majors in last 6 months · 37 days since last update ## The "So What?" (Strategic Takeaway) {#so-what} Distance Tool is an utilities app. It holds a 4.45/5 rating from 2K reviews. > **Bottom Line:** Distance Tool provides essential offline measurement capabilities that retain core field-surveying users, but the current 162-day update gap risks professional churn. Committing to a predictable release cadence would unlock higher long-term subscription value by signaling active support to the professional segment. **Best for:** Professionals in agriculture, land surveying, and property management who require mobile-based mapping and measurement tools. ### PM Action Plan (Next Best Moves) - [ ] [INVEST] Ship a feature-update roadmap because the 162-day update gap signals stagnation to professional users → restore trust and retention ### Outlook: Mixed The market for specialized mapping utilities is consolidating around tools that offer seamless data integration and frequent performance updates. Distance Tool's current maintenance-mode posture leaves it exposed to rivals that can offer better sync and modern UI, which would directly erode its professional user base by Q3. - 🔴 The 162-day update gap suggests a maintenance-mode posture, which limits the app's ability to compete with platforms that iterate on data-sync capabilities. - ⚪ The subscription-based model provides a steady revenue baseline, but requires consistent feature delivery to justify the cost against free general-purpose mapping alternatives. ## Key Metrics Summary | Metric | Value | | :--- | :--- | | Overall Rating | 4.45/5 | | Total Reviews | 2K | | Confidence | Low | | Pricing Model | Subscription | | Platforms | iOS | | Key Features | 4 analyzed | | Trend | Mixed | | Outlook | Mixed | ## Competitor Comparison | App | Rating | Sentiment | Developer | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Distance Tool** (this app) | 4.45/5 | N/A | Applorium Ltd | | [Sota Connect: Secure Network](https://marlvel.ai/apps/fi-catconnect-sota) | 4.9/5 | N/A | Cat Connect | | [avoVPN Desktop](https://marlvel.ai/apps/avovpn-desktop) | N/A/5 | N/A | Avocado VPN Technologies | | [Free VPN by Free VPN .org™](https://marlvel.ai/apps/free-vpn-by-free-vpn-org) | 4.5/5 | Mixed | Free VPN LLC | | [Fusvob VPN : Super VPN 2026](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-toplinkc-foxexcellent) | 4.4/5 | Mixed | Fuxin Technology | | [Potatso](https://marlvel.ai/apps/potatso) | 4.4/5 | n/a | Potatso Lab LTD | ## Company Profile - **Developer:** Applorium Ltd - **Website:** [https://applorium.com](https://applorium.com) - **Social:** [X/Twitter](https://twitter.com/ovalsoftware) ## Data Sources & Links - **App Store:** [View on Apple Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/distance-tool/id478687476?uo=4) - **Dev Site:** [Official Website](https://applorium.com) - **Sources:** Developer website content, App store metadata. ## Related Intel Reports - [*Sota Connect: Secure Network*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/fi-catconnect-sota) (Cat Connect) · 4.9/5 Rating - [*avoVPN Desktop*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/avovpn-desktop) (Avocado VPN Technologies) · N/A Rating - [*Free VPN by Free VPN .org™*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/free-vpn-by-free-vpn-org) (Free VPN LLC) · 4.5/5 Rating - [*Fusvob VPN : Super VPN 2026*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-toplinkc-foxexcellent) (Fuxin Technology) · 4.4/5 Rating - [*Potatso*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/potatso) (Potatso Lab LTD) · 4.4/5 Rating - [*Quantumult X*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/quantumult-x) (Cross Utility Ltd) · 3.8/5 Rating - [*V2Box - V2ray Client*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/v2box-v2ray-client) (techlaim) · 4.6/5 Rating - [*카톡 분석 - 오픈채팅, 카톡 채팅 분석, 통계, 검색*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/com-liger-katalkanalysispaid) (Park Sung Cheol) · N/A Rating - [*로또 황금번호 생성기*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/lotto-lottogold) (jaehwan lee) · N/A Rating - [*도사폰 (만세력 역학도구)*](https://marlvel.ai/apps/app--656) (Softchaser Company Limited) · 5.0/5 Rating ## Frequently Asked Questions {#faq} ### Is Distance Tool suitable for professional land surveying?
