“Recent user voice shows a excited sentiment. Users appreciate utility for non-rev travel and community & responsiveness, but report post-update performance issues and ui/ux downgrades.”
What Users Love
I can’t believe I ever non-revved without it. Game changer!
Essential for any airline employees that commute or travel.
Excellent customer service with a human, NOT AI!!!
Thank you to Laurens and the developer team for responding to my email and quickly fixing an issue
What Frustrates Users
Latest update made it so extremely slow I have to uninstall and reinstall
The most recent update of this app is broken... every deleted request results in the 'this is taking longer than usual' error
Since the last update, it wont let me search by flight number.. only by route.
We can only see up to 20 requests at a time. Made it so much easier to see all 50 requests

The outtake for StaffTraveler
SWOT Analysis
Core Strengths
- Massive network effect (1.15M+ members)
- High-accuracy crowdsourced data
- Unique AI assistant (Casey) and eSIM integration
- Strong developer-to-user rapport
Critical Frictions
- Significant performance lag in recent v3.x updates
- Removal of 'search by flight number' utility
- Reduced request visibility (20 vs 50 requests)
- Lack of direct booking integration
Growth Levers
- Monetize high-intent users with Priority Requests
- Expand AI capabilities into automated booking support
- Capture users from ID90 by offering superior load accuracy
Market Threats
- Churn to leaner competitors (FlyZilla, NonRev+) due to performance issues
- ID90 Travel's end-to-end booking ecosystem
- Potential for airlines to restrict staff from sharing load data
What are the next best moves?
Prioritize a 'Performance & Stability' sprint to resolve 'loading' errors.
High-frequency complaints cite the app as 'broken' and 'extremely slow' post-update, which is the primary driver of the declining sentiment trend.
Restore 'Search by Flight Number' functionality.
Specific user feedback identifies this as a major UI downgrade that hinders the core utility of the app for power users.
Increase request visibility limit back to 50 or offer a toggle.
Users specifically noted the reduction from 50 to 20 requests as a negative change that makes the app harder to use.
Feature Gaps vs Competitors
- Direct integration with airline booking systems like MyIDTravel (available in ID90 Travel)
- Larger inventory of interline-exclusive hotel and car rental discounts (available in ID90 Travel)
Key Takeaways
StaffTraveler is the gold standard for non-rev data accuracy due to its massive community, but it is currently vulnerable. If the PM does not immediately fix the performance regressions and restore removed search utilities, the app risks losing its power-user base to leaner, more stable alternatives like FlyZilla or NonRev+.
Where Is It Heading?
Declining
Recent v3.11.0 updates triggered a surge in 'broken' and 'slow' performance complaints—Frustrated mood among long-term users.
Active investment in differentiators like 'Casey' AI and eSIM (Mar 2026) shows the app is evolving beyond a simple utility.
Maintains #19 Grossing rank despite technical issues, indicating high user dependency and 'sticky' core value.
