Frequently asked questions
What is Marlvel?
Marlvel is an independent platform that tracks iOS and Android apps and publishes a living analytical page for each one. Every page combines AI-powered user-sentiment analysis, competitive positioning, store rankings, and per-app intelligence reports, free to read.
What data does Marlvel provide on each app?
Each app profile includes a 5-level user-sentiment score (Thrilled, Excited, Mixed, Frustrated, Upset) derived from recent reviews, a 4-tier competitive landscape (closest rival, contenders, same-space peers, emerging threats), App Store and Google Play ranking history, version-by-version change analysis, store ratings, and an editorial intelligence report, all with a transparent confidence score.
Is Marlvel free to use?
Yes. App profiles, rankings, publisher pages, niche analyses, and intelligence reports are all free to read with no account required. The data is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (CC-BY-NC 4.0) for non-commercial use with attribution.
How often is the data updated?
App Store and Google Play rankings are snapshotted daily. Intelligence reports refresh on a rolling basis: a report is regenerated when its input signals change, and when an app surges or drops in the charts its report is prioritized for a refresh. Each report carries its own last_verified date.
Can AI assistants and LLMs cite Marlvel?
Yes. Marlvel exposes a machine-readable layer (llms.txt, llms-full.txt, per-app and per-publisher Markdown endpoints, and a /.well-known/ai.json discovery manifest) with explicit citation guidelines. Every page surfaces an ISO 8601 last-updated date so AI systems can attribute and date the data they cite.
Which apps and markets does Marlvel cover?
Marlvel covers the top and high-potential apps in the US market across the App Store categories on both iOS and Android, grouped into curated niches and ranked by country, platform, and category. Coverage of additional countries and stores is expanding.
