“Recent user voice shows a mixed sentiment. Users appreciate ease of use and simplicity and legacy device compatibility, but report server startup failures and lack of background/auto-start functionality.”
What Users Love
I love the simplicity of this app. It just does what it says on the tin.
QuickFTP lives up to its name; got it working and transfering files... in less than three minutes.
I use this app to share files with my old Apple devices in G3/G4 era, and it works great.
I needed an easy way to set up an occasional FTP file transfer between my new mac and a few vintage Powerbooks.
Pain Points
Simply does not start. No matter what I do, the status stays 'FTP Server is OFF'.
The start button just blinks when pressed, and does nothing.
My only complaint is that there's no way to have the server automatically start running when launched.
Really need it to run in the background and/or open at login.
The reason for only 4 stars is that it really needs some type of logging function so that we can troubleshoot connectivity errors.
The lack of log files means there's no hope of debugging the problem.
