  1. v4.1.4iOS
This release adds support for six new languages and includes bug fixes for a smoother experience.

    What's new:
    • New Language Support •
AteMate now supports Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Thai, and Hungarian. The app will display in your device's preferred language automatically, or you can choose your preferred language in Settings.

We've done our best to make the translations feel natural, but language is personal. If something feels off, we'd love to hear from you at hello@atemate.com or via the chat in the app.

    • Bug Fixes •
Under the hood fixes and UI improvements for a smoother, more reliable experience.

We're building AteMate to support awareness, consistency, and progress you can repeat, not pressure or judgment.

    Thanks for being here,
    The AteMate Team

  2. v4.1.3iOS
This release brings deeper food analysis, larger photos, smarter insights, and text-only meal support.
Same focus on awareness, not restriction. Patterns, not perfection. Progress you can repeat.

    Here’s what’s new:

    • Enhanced Food Analysis •
See detailed macronutrient breakdowns at the ingredient level. Learn what adds macros and energy to your meals. Tap the Macro Breakdown chart to see the full ingredient breakdown. New 7-day and 30-day Macro Breakdown charts are now available on the Insights page, so you can see patterns across the week and month. We've also improved food recognition accuracy and the analysis update feature for adding missing ingredients or supplements.

    • New Visual Experience •
Your meal photos now display larger and richer across your Journal, Connect feed, and meal details. More visual updates coming soon, including a brand new Day Recap page.

    • Support for Text-Only meal analysis•
The Health Intelligence Engine now analyzes text-only meal entries. The more detail you add, the richer the insights — and results are included alongside your other patterns.

    • Optional Calories & Macros (Done Differently) •
You can now choose to see calorie and macro insights. These are included as learning tools—not rules—to help you understand how different foods and combinations affect how you feel.

    • Bug fixes •
Under the hood fixes and UI improvements for a smoother, more reliable experience.

  3. v4.1.2iOS
New Photo layout for a more visual experience. Smarter Insights, now supporting Text-Only entries. Bug fixes.
Same focus on Awareness, not restriction. Patterns, not perfection.
Track what you eat, how you move, and how you feel. Spot the patterns. Make progress—one step at a time.

    Here’s what’s new:

    • New Visual Experience •
We continue enhancing the visual experience in the app by updating the photo dimensions. Since the last update, full 16:9 images are captured and analyzed with every meal entry. With this release, we are starting to update UI in the app to display these images on the Journal pages, Connect feed, and in meal details. More changes coming soon with a brand new Day Recap page.

    • Support for Text-Only meal analysis•
We have updated the AteMate's Health Intelligence Engine to analyze Text-Only meals. Naturally, this highly depends on what you enter in the text field for Text-only meals, but we do our best to analyze it and include the results with other insights.

    • Optional Calories & Macros (Done Differently) •
You can now choose to see calorie (energy) and macro insights. These are included as learning tools—not rules—to help you understand how different foods and combinations affect how you feel.

    • Bug fixes •
We fixed a camera capture issue on some iPads and iPhones. It should work properly now on all screen sizes.

    • Refined Insights Across Your Journal •

    ** AteMate AI announcement **
Ate is thrilled to introduce AteMate AI - your Mindful Wellness Companion!
AteMate leverages AI technology to support your wellness journey. It’s not a coach or a precise measuring instrument, but rather a knowledgeable, helpful friend. AteMate provides fun and useful insights based on your food images and entries.

We believe AteMate can elevate your journaling, personal growth, and long-term success. We’re excited to bring this tool to you and look forward to enhancing it based on your feedback. Let us know what you think and how we can make it even better.

    How it works
AteMate analyzes your food entries based on what it can see in the photo. Sometimes it might not be spot on because it can only recognize visible ingredients. For instance, it can’t detect the quality of ingredients or hidden items like protein powder in yogurt (something I frequently use). And, of course, it can’t analyze what it can’t see—like the hidden layers in a Chicago-style deep-dish pizza.

    AteMate Privacy Commitment
We are using an enterprise grade AI provider. This means your data is always encrypted, not used to train AI models, and not shared with unauthorized individuals.

    Opt-in to Use AteMate
We believe AteMate is a fantastic addition to the app, and we’ve ensured your privacy is protected. However, we understand it might not be for everyone. That’s why it’s an opt-in feature. You can continue using the app just as before, even if you choose not to enable AteMate. Plus, you can disable it anytime if you decide it’s not for you.

Ate is still focused on simple food journaling, but it's no longer just about food. It's a holistic tool that integrates exercise, water, and sleep tracking, offering a complete picture of your health journey. It's all about balance and finding what works for YOU. Whether your goal is to manage your weight, identify nourishing food patterns, or simply enhance your overall well-being, Ate Food Diary is here to help.

We know making changes is never easy, so we want to make sure the app is as supportive as it can be. If you have any suggestions or ideas on how we can make it even better, let us know through our in-app support chat!

Edit AI Results: You can now edit the AI generated description, ingredients list, and tags.

AI Insights: "Eat the rainbow" analysis - How colorful are your meals across the month? Or look at the Macronutrient distribution across your meals. Tap on either to see how meals were categorized.

We also fixed some bugs, inconsiderate white screens, and other iOS 18 related issues.

    Feel great with Ate!

(You need to have AteMate AI enabled to use the above new features!)

    Previous updates:
v3.15: Ate is thrilled to introduce AteMate AI - your Mindful Wellness Companion!

However, that doesn't mean you should do everything every day. For example when it comes to movement, make sure you include some rest days to allow your body and mind to recover.)

Curious how your habits are spread out throughout the day (and on different days of the week)? Check out our new Time of Day activity graph that looks at the past 30 days to help you visualize when you are the most active. Any outliers? I found a few on my graph. 22. v3.14.2iOS
A brand new way to manage all the charts on your Insights page and bug fixes.

Yes, there are a ton of cool charts available. And yes, they were hidden and hard to manage. We fixed that in this release. Just tap on the more (...) icon on the top of the page.

Check out all the cool charts we added to help you discover your eating patterns, track your workout consistency, and a bunch more to help you on your journey.

We also played with some of the app colors to make everything feel a bit more cozy & warmer.

    Happy journaling!

    Previous update (3.14):
Brand new on Insights: Days Tracked calendar & Time of Day activity chart.

With our new Days Tracked calendar view you can make sure you are consistent in tracking your food, movement, and other activities. (Tracking everyday will give you the best results.

(I need to cut out late night meals!)
