Original release notes

Finding your new favourite beauty product just got easier:

• Ingredient safety scores. Products now show a safety read-out built from their actual ingredient list, with every ingredient rated safe, moderate or caution.

• Plain English on every ingredient. Each one comes with a short line on what it actually does, so you're not left guessing what butylene glycol is doing in your moisturiser.

• The full ingredient list. Tap through for the complete list in the order it appears on the pack, along with how the scoring works and where the data comes from.

• What Reddit actually thinks. Popular products carry a community score out of 5 and the themes people keep raising, pulled from the Australian beauty subreddits.

• Similar products that are actually similar. The similar-items row now stays inside the same specific category, so a serum suggests other serums.

• Sephora. Sephora is now its own browsable group alongside Mecca and Rhode, and its products turn up in search.

• Reviews on your profile. Your profile now shows how many reviews you've written rather than how many posts.

Not every ingredient has a description yet, and some products are still waiting on a score. Where we don't have it, we leave it out rather than filling the space.
