The app has had a major update to keep it working on all new devices. It now includes more bird sounds, more ways of sorting them and new settings for the quiz.

This update restores the button for French names on older iPhones and the iPhone SE.

Many new sounds have been added and the app has been updated to run on all the latest devices.

Big changes on the iPhone - the app now runs in portrait mode as well as landscape!

In addition, new bird sounds have been added: Northern Hawk Owl, Willow Ptarmigan, Field Sparrow, Rusty Blackbird and Hoary Redpoll (song and call).

The voiceover in the slideshow now works with French bird names as well as English ones, and some small bugs that crept into the previous update have been fixed.

A new feature has been added for iOS 7- a voiceover in the slideshow section, announcing the name of the bird at the end of each sound. This new feature is great for testing yourself informally, or for competing with the family - who can say the name of the bird first?
