Improved User Authentication: The update will enable AT&T postpaid & prepaid wireless customers to use a one-time password to log into the app.

The 11.0.16 update is a complete end to end makeover of the AT&T Secure Family app and service.  We’ve kept the features you love and added many new features you asked for.  For existing Secure Faily customers we’ve taken care of transitioning your existing Secure Family settings to make the transition as easy as possible.  To take advantage of these changes and to continue to use the Secure Family service you must update the app on all your family member devices, this include Secure Family on adult devices and Secure Family Companion on child devices.  To enable the service update both the Parent device and child devices must be updated to 11.0.16 at the same time.  We continue to listen to our valued customers and work to improve your experience.

The latest Secure Family version 3.20 update for the parent includes minor bug fixes and app preparation for a major update coming Summer 2023 (Stay tuned!).  Please install this update on the parent phone and install 1.20 update for Secure Family Companion on the child’s phone at the same time. Latest update provides improved pairing prompts to guide the customer through the Secure Family Companion installation on the child’s phone and pairing with the parent’s Secure Family App.  Additional updates include a tamper checklist to help identify disablement of the Secure Family Companion App on the child’s phone and steps to correct the disablement. Also includes a new warning notification when two geofences (places) are saved close to each other and may overlap to prevent potential erroneous arrival/departure alerts.  We continue to enhance the app with performance improvements and bug fixes.

A VPN will not be automatically installed for location tracking alone.  VPN will be required for parental controls features such as pause internet or content filtering. Also includes icons on the Map indicating use of cell towers for network location (lower accuracy) or GPS (higher accuracy).
