- v1.999iOS
Updated word chooser, Updated topbar Fixed and improved retype & rewind functionality Fixed cap switching from the topbar (it now reflects properly) Big shortcuts on main menu (you can enable this by editing the main menu / spacebar hold menu) Updated base dictionary - removed some useless/nonsense words, added missing common ones (thanks for the donated dictionary data. I haven't added them to credits yet though) free sticker icon Sorry about the lack of update - more may come in 2020 at this rate. I've been in a limbo of sorts
- v1.99iOS
Major overhaul of the topbar. Minor improvements to the options menu. Minor improvements to quality of life features.
- v1.98iOS
Emojify is now renamed as "Expandify", now accessible from topbar options (a lot more convenient to use, if I do say so myself) Fixed the algorithm to improve autocorrect when peck-typing -> If you press-hold the spacebar for 5 seconds, it will launch a "crasher" menu this is not meant for you, it's meant for them Apple engineers. This is for reproducing the iOS10 non-popup issues. -> To reproduce the non-popup: 1. open nintype in some app (APP_A, e.g notes) 2. open nintype in some other app (APP_B, e.g reminders) 3. in nintype in APP_A, press_hold spacebar, lightly, for 5 seconds. 4. in APP_A select "yes", which activates the crasher mode 5. select "trigger_crash" which makes nintype restart 6. switch to APP_B (go to home screen first), open nintype. 7. select "trigger_crash" again, which will make nintype restart do steps 4-7 repeatedly between APP_A and APP_B, and eventually nintype will stop showing up. It won't show up until you restart nintype by turning on/off open access from settings.app -> If you manage to replicate it please file a radar bug at bugreport.apple.com (or google "apple radar") and file a radar bug! This is the only way we can get Apple to fix the non-popup issue. Once you have done so, please send me the radar ID (mail me at yose@jormy.com or tweet me at @jormy) -> I would really appreciate any help in filing the above bug report. I won't ask for too many more requests in the future, but please help with this one. It's pretty much the bug that affects nintype the most, and unfortunately nintype suffers more from this bug compared to other third party keyboards. - v1.97iOS
Last iOS9 version, before iOS10 version comes out. Since march, some work have been made in making nintype more user friendly. Revamped options menu, improved themes editor menu. Added some fancier eye candy options. Plenty of bugfixes. Limited Russian and Hebrew support. Nothing much has been done in terms of making the keyboard appear more. For some reason the phantom disappearances still happen, even in iOS10. It seems like it's caused by OpenGL. I'll see what I can do, but.. When iOS shows no keyboard whatsoever on an app, but at the same time on another app nintype shows, whose fault is that? Not mine, right? Please know that in iOS10, to fix popup issues you may have to flip open access on/off twice - which restarts the keyboard proxies in all apps (it seems)
- v1.96iOS
Bugfix to the "words turning into symbols" bug. Apologies for that Memory usage improvements (attempted, at least)
- v1.95iOS
Improved settings menu Autocorrect can be made to work like stock keyboards when pecking on slidemode Stockmode (in addition to slidemode / peckmode) for people who don't like to slide. Activate this from options iPad pro pencil mode Peckmode shadows Improvement to bottom-right sub-board Bugfixes, little improvements and other things (roughly 20-30 days of work go in this update)
- v1.93iOS
Emergency fix for nintype not starting up due to the error screen not showing the "restore nintype button" - sorry about that (for those that suffer this problem).
- v1.92iOS
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Nintype is officially updated for iOS 9! Let’s dive right in to what’s new. • Brand new icon. Lookin’ snazzy. Thanks Jack Haal! • 3D/Force Touch support, finally! Now you can do thing like force touch keys brings up alternative ones. There’s also Force Typing and Force Autocomplete! These are only for the iPhone 6S/6S+, by the way • iOS 9.1 emojis. You were waiting vehemently for these, weren’t you? • A simple mode. Of course, some of you love Nintype’s endless settings and features, but if you just aren’t that type of person then just turn simple mode on. • Simpler settings and settings search. No more having to dig in Nintype’s settings for ten minutes trying to find that one feature you wanted to enable (or disable, possibly) • A comprehensive help menu, including a FAQ and an autospace tutorial amongst others. • Server mode. Now you can view Nintype-related things such as consoles, log viewers, import/export boxes, etc. right from your computer browser! You can also use a physical keyboard to type on iOS with this. • Tons of improvements and small fixes related to everything that you can imagine (and maybe some that you even can’t). Things improved include peck-typing, topbar, autospace, glyphs (thanks George!), algorithms, learning, bug fixes, and so on. Note: this is not an extensive list • Hopefully improved stability. There is a lot more that’s included in this update just waiting to be discovered, but wasn’t mentioned here due to lack of space. If you want to read the full changelog, you can see it on Nintype’s website (soon). Have fun! p.s development will continue well throughout the next year, especially with the iPad pro & pencil use cases
