- v1.1.2Android
- indicators for sunrise, sunset and zenith of the sun
- v5.1.5iOS
Due to a bug in Apple's iOS 18, in some locations the month in the Date Picker dialog could be a month off. Version 5.1.5 circumvents the bug for iOS 18 users until it can be properly fixed by Apple. We also fixed some external links that were not opening from within the app, and linked to our new social media account on Bluesky.
- v5.1.4iOS
1) Fix to popup window toolbar appearance issues switching between Dark Mode and Standard (Light) Mode. 2) iPad version now has black main toolbar like iPhone. 3) Fix to Tutorial on iPad. 4) Fix to bug where notification sometimes showed empty time string.
- v5.1.3iOS
Minor improvements.
- v5.1.2iOS
Despite our best efforts in 5.1.1, users who had upgraded to iOS15 were still occasionally having their preferences zapped. We have made substantial additions to the code to try to protect users against any data loss. The app now keeps multiple backups of its settings file, and in addition, users may choose to manually back up their settings. (If you have had issues in previous versions, we recommend installing a fresh copy of the app by deleting your previous version first.)
- v5.1.1iOS
Fixed the disappearing settings (including custom alarms) bug that was still affecting some users, as well as the slightly clipped earth graphic on some iPhones.
- v5.1.0iOS
Supports iOS15; bugfixes (including map pin drop), and improved tutorial.
- v5.0.5iOS
Fix to orientation bug in some iPhones.
- v5.0.4iOS
Dark mode implemented.
- v5.0.3iOS
Minor bug fixes.
- v5.0.2iOS
Removed Google Analytics and fixed some minor bugs.
- v5.0.1iOS
Fixed tappable date area on iPhone X series.
- v5.0.0iOS
User interface is now adapted for newer iPhones' display sizes and bevels at their native resolution. Code is now updated for newer iOS features and requirements. Requires iOS 9.3 or later.
- v4.0.0iOS
The wheel now represents a full solar day for set location, which is not necessarily exactly 24.0 hours. The date bar now shows and sets the solar day for the location, not the clock time, which is shown separately and is independent from the solar day. The Almanac now shows solar day length and sun zenith at solar noon. Days with daylight saving time (DST) transitions will show the time change on the wheel. All known bugs were fixed, including those relating to using the forward and back arrows, daylight savings/summer time issues, and incorrect alarm times and repeat days. iPhone only: The info bar (under the date) now animates new information by default and remembers its state (double-tap to toggle). More information about this release can be read here: http://www.juggleware.com/blog/?p=776
- v3.2.2iOS
Fixed bug where the first 3 alarms weren't sounding in "persistent" mode.
- v3.2.1iOS
Hotfix for 3.2 that reads older (3.1.0 and earlier) alarm settings correctly.
- v3.2.0iOS
New feature: • Timezone "Map mode" option for manual locations: automatically update the time zone displayed to whatever location you pick on the map. (Tap on the time zone to enter time zone picker; as always, tap on the green earth to pick a new location). Accuracy, speed, usability and bug fixes: • Completely reworked date/time code; should fix the occasional bugs that some users were reporting. • Improved speed/responsiveness. • Removed Badges as a required Notification type; this was causing unnecessary alerts about setting Notifications for people who didn't have or want badges set. • Updated icons etc for latest device models. • On colored pie wheel: for improved interactivity, skip drawing slices for periods that are less than 2.5 minutes long; for better visualization, only draw text labels for periods that are more than 10 minutes long. • No longer calculating solar midnight by subtracting or adding 12 hours from solar noon... this could be off by several seconds. Now using traditional Roman method of finding the midpoint between sunset and next day's sunrise. • Renamed "Night" period to "Full Darkness". • Fixed error in Glossary about months.
- v3.1.0iOS
Fixes an iOS 8 issue on iPhone with the date selector on the main screen, and updates notifications and location updates to be compatible with iOS 8's new privacy permissions.
- v3.0.4iOS
Fix to crash on iPhone 5s after tapping the date.
- v3.0.3iOS
Fix to incorrect azimuth when in DST mode.
- v3.0.2iOS
Bug fixes: * Fixed crash that could occur when closing the main Date Picker just as the spinning dial was about to stop. * Fixed DST issue with solar azimuth display. * Tutorial dialog should no longer come up twice. New Features: * [iPhone] Now remembers which of the swipable infobars (below date) you were looking at when you re-open the app. * [iPhone] Double tapping the swipable infobars now toggles auto-scrolling. (Note: Off by default. Manually swiping also turns this behavior off. Area flashes red or green on double-tap to show new state.) Minor Tweaks: * Shows abbreviated city names where necessary. * Map Picker shows smoother updating of location pin annotation. * Tutorial delay time changed from 5 minutes to 15 minutes. * Limited date entry from 1950 to 2050 so that it’s compliant with library that gets solar elevation. * "Rate this app" dialog appears later the first time, and much later if you press "later." * No longer resets user-has-seen-tutorial state on new version update.
- v3.0.1iOS
Fixes bug to some longer ("persistent") alarms not sounding in version 3.0. - v3.0iOS
For version 3.0 we have rebuilt Sol: Sun Clock's user interface exclusively for iOS 7. For example, it now takes advantage of Motion Control (the stars now appear to be behind the earth and the clouds in front). We've taken advantage of other iOS 7 UI features as well such as transparent UI elements. Alarms now have 30-second versions when you set them to "persistent" mode. We added a new alarm sound as well called "Wake Up Gently" especially designed to rouse you at sunrise. The chart now shows info for Sunset, Sunrise, Solar Noon, and Solar Midnight. Many updates to help and glossary, reorganized menus, a new FAQ section, all with larger type than before. We fixed a crash that occurred if you ran 2.0 in iOS 7 and tapped on the date, and corrected some contrast display issues in the Summary screen. Plus lots of other minor details and performance enhancements as well. Attention Sol: Sun Clock version 3.0 users: If you are using the "persistent" (sound until dismiss) alarms, avoid the first 3 and the last alarm sound. The fix will arrive with 3.0.1 shortly.
