- v2.9iOS
This update adds periodic checks for updates to your downloaded maps. There have also been assorted bug fixes.
- v2.8iOS
• The app now includes a Safari extension that can replace links to map websites (e.g. Google Maps, OpenStreetMap) with links that open this app. • New "View In"s are available for Organic Maps and WikiNearby. • The Panorama screen now has a maximum distance setting, to limit views to realistic distances when visibility is imperfect. • When the app runs on a Mac, keyboard-and-mouse-friendly zoom buttons are now shown in photo, panorama and graph screens. • Bug fixes.
- v2.7iOS
• The app now has some basic support for the Apple Watch. • The Settings screen has been reorganized into a number of subsections. • When the app runs on a Mac in "Designed for iPad" mode a zoom control is shown in the corner of the window, making it possible to navigate with only a mouse. • A statistics section is now shown at the bottom of the Maps screen, indicating how many maps are installed and how much storage they are occupying.
- v2.6iOS
• You can now update your downloaded 1:50,000 maps to new versions, where these have been published by LINZ. • The built-in 1:250,000 maps and the search data have also been updated to new version. • The search box now accepts coordinates. • You can now prevent the app from sleeping, either unconditionally or only when external power is applied; this could be useful if you have your device in a vehicle mount, or similar. • The blend mode used to combine topos with imagery to create the hybrid map can now be adjusted. • A "long touch" on the app's icon on your home screen will now offer three shortcuts: you can launch the app showing your current location, start a track recording, or search. • The search screen now remembers your recent searches. • You can now add web links to waypoints, routes, tracks and GPX files. • The app now has app icon variants for Dark and Tinted modes. • Bugs have been fixed.
- v2.4iOS
The new features in this version are mostly related to panoramas. You can add labels to panoramas, to mark summits and other features. You can attach your photos to panoramas. There is now an additional compass mode for panoramas, Full Rotation. You can now export panoramas as JPEG images. Also, you can now choose whether your location is shown by a blue spot, as before, or by an arrow indicating the direction in which you are facing.
- v2.2iOS
It's now possible to link multiple photos to waypoints, tracks and routes. As well as links to nearby photos from your photo library, these photos can now also be links to other photos from your library or internet links. "View In" now has options for Google Earth and Bing Maps.
- v2.1iOS
Panorama mode now has a compass button; turn this on and the panorama will pan as you rotate your device. You can now attach photos to waypoints, tracks and routes.
- v2.0iOS
This is primarily a bug-fix update.
- v1.4iOS
New features in this version include filtering of track recordings, either while recording or afterwards, which should help make reported distances more reasonable as they will include less jitter. There are new buttons in the Files screen to import and share GPX files. You can also now copy-and-paste items between GPX files, and deleted GPX items can be recovered in the new "recently deleted items" section. Search results can be grouped by region. There are now more possibilities for customisation of the app's buttons, as well as other user-interface improvements. As always, also many bug fixes.
- v1.3iOS
This update adds new features including graphs of altitude and speed, drawing routes on the map, flying along those routes in 3D, and measuring distances between points on the map. The app will now suggest names for waypoints etc. based on nearby placenames. It can now show coordinates in UTM and MGRS formats, and bearings in Mils. There are also some bug fixes, e.g. fewer visual glitches in 3D mode. Visit the website for more info; your feedback is always appreciated.
- v1.2iOS
New "Panorama Mode": select a point on the map and the app will compute what's visible from there. Map is shaded to indicate what is and isn't visible, and a panorama silhouette is displayed.
- v1.1iOS
Show your photos on the map. View the visible area in Apple Maps and other apps. Improved search and support for GPX routes. Bug fixes.
