On iOS 18, Just Press Record is now available as a Control so you can start and stop recording from the Lock Screen and Control Centre and with the Action Button.

On watchOS 11 you can start and stop recording using the new Double Tap gesture or the Widget in the Smart Stack.

We've redesigned Just Press Record for Apple Watch. The new Recents view stores many more recordings, highlighting those made today and yesterday.  You can also see, at a glance, which recordings have not yet synced to your iPhone and manage the transfer process for individual recordings.

The Widget is more interactive on iOS 17, letting you start and stop recording and see the elapsed duration.

And one more thing... A recording will no longer be interrupted when receiving a phone call that you do not answer.

This update improves the transcription workflow for multilingual users.  Just Press Record now remembers which languages have been used and presents them in the Transcribe menu, making it simple and convenient to choose the transcription language for any recording.
