Thank you for using SchoolMessenger Home!  In this update we are now supporting the latest OS and we also updated the Sender Name of emails to more accurately reflect the person they should be from.

Thank you for using SchoolMessenger Home!  In this update we fixed a bug that prevented some users from reporting absences on a weekend as well as a couple of minor display bugs.

In this update we have added some more support for Right to Left (RTL) languages, made some internal changes to support future growth in international markets, added support for districts who want to make comments mandatory for certain absence reasons, and fixed some minor bugs.

We made more improvements to the accessibility of the app along with some usability updates like displaying the password requirements before you enter a password, jumping to the next section when entering an absence, and adding the alternate claiming workflow to the Contact screen. Initially, the language selected will be based on the language of the device itself but the user can override that language in the settings of the app. Please note - dynamic content (i.e. the messages received from the school, and other school or district content, may not be translated). We changed the layout on the Attendance screen so that you can switch between the calendar view and the list view. This really helps users that have a phone with a smaller form factor. This is a security feature to ensure that any user adding an additional phone number to the app has access to the number they are adding. They can verify access either by phone or by SMS. We have also included a verification step when adding a new email address to the preferences section.

We have also made it easier to see when the maximum number of phone numbers or emails have been reached (based on school settings), unified the colour scheme for the contacts in the app, and enabled printing and saving of attachments.

In this update, we have fixed some minor bugs and made it easier to stay up to date on the most current version of the app. We have also improved the responsiveness and layout when viewing the app on a tablet device, and given users the option to reload the chat screen (where enabled) by pulling down to refresh the chat conversations.

If allowed by your school, you can now add or remove contact information (phone numbers and email addresses) and receive school broadcasts on these new endpoints. It is important to note that this does not change any contact information on file with your school, but rather it is only for use within the app.
