Tapping nearby restaurant cards now works across the entire card — no more missed taps on edges or corners. Cards also respond with a subtle press animation so you always know your tap registered. The restaurant details screen has a cleaner dismiss button that fits naturally with the rest of the app. Database: Added 17, closed 3, for a total of 1,616 restaurants tracked across the world — 1,317 open and 299 permanently closed. Every Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives location from all 47 seasons, updated and verified.

There's a new look and feel, the biggest thing requested was a map with all the restaurants on it so it's there now. You just zoom in or out to see the restaurant details. ADD MILES AWAY - You will see how many "Miles Away" you are from a Diners, Drive-ins and Dives restaurant when you're on the "What's Near Me?" page or when you're on the  "Search by Restaurant Name or Address" page.

FIX - update the pull to refresh on the state pages as it wasn't working correctly

1. Better functionality if you're not connected to the internet i.e. areas like "Find By States" "Recently Aired" and "Search Restaurants" will use a local json file

UPDATED - Look and feel has bigger fonts to make it easier to read on the card style listing for restaurants
REMOVED COMMENTING - Due to spam, I removed the ability to add comments "for now" until I find a better way to manage them
CHANGE - Using Apple Maps exclusively now, it's such a better mapping experience
ADDED - Driving Directions button below the map on the restaurant page will route you to the restaurant right from your current location
ADDED - Track the restaurants where you ate just visited by logging into your Facebook account and then go to one of the restaurant pages and mark it off your list. I will add more functionality around that so you can keep track of how many restaurants you've been to and how many you have left to go.

bug fix - people contacted me via email saying the app crashed when logging in using Facebook so I added a couple more login checks that I think will fix the issue. it's always a work in progress using Facebook as a login platform so thanks for your patience in advance.

ADDED --> Login with your Facebook account and go to any restaurant page and click on the "Been There" button, that will sync with the website
ADDED --> I updated the states page counts to include the other countries Guy Fieri visits and the state counts are updated from the cloud along with being refreshable
FIXED --> The restaurant page would double load from the cloud when you came back from the comments page, it's fixed so it uses the data initially downloaded the first time

Fast loading of restaurant pages especially the "alphabetical" & "recently aired" due to a couple code tweaks, now showing the count of cached items locally, changed expiration of cached items to be 30 days instead of 24 hours and added a refresh icon on the upper right corner of certain pages which pulls the latest data from the cloud, lastly, added icons to the restaurant details page.

The "alphabetical" & "recently aired" pages were loading slowly so I made them a little bit faster and could still load faster so I'll keep looking into.  I added the refresh icon on the top right for various pages so you can grab the most recent data in the cloud rather then use your cached version that is stored on your phone.

Sorry Sorry Sorry! It's been way too long since I updated this app but due to recent circumstances ... I'll have a lot more time to add the features you keep requesting everyday. Please take a look and you will see a couple updates a month from here on out as I really want to make this your FAVORITE Diners, Drive-ins and Dives app. ~Rick

btw - I'm very sure there are a couple bugs that I don't know about that will need fixing since I'm using a new platform to build this so feel free to @flavortownusa me on Twitter if you find them and I'll update them immediately.

I have turned off the initial loading where the application asks for your current location due to many complaints.

You will now see a screen where you can click on your current location or enter an address or zipcode to do a search.

I have also added a new button on the location details screen where you can see curated photos of the location.

The name of the restaurant is used for the keyword search so it may or may not return proper results.

We've also added quite a few upgrades based on user feedback.

1. Location screen loads are 50% faster

2. Sharing to Facebook when you're at a location allows you to also leave a message

3. Triple D Owner! Claim your location and promote your daily specials on the app. It's a great way to keep connecting with loyal fans of the show and this app.

4. Entire UI has been updated

5. Added a "Closed" button as some locations are out of business and sends me an email.

6. Added a "Something Wrong or Invalid" button so you can let us know when our data is incorrect and sends me an email.

7. Red Pin on the map now allows you to get directions to that place from your current position.

8. View YouTube videos inside the app which was a huge complaint so now you have it and it works great.

9. View the locations twitter or facebook pages from within the app.

This should be a much better upgrade so let me know what you think and what features need to be worked on next.

Had a couple of users tell me that the app crashed when it loaded.

When they deleted and re-installed the app it was fixed so I talked with the developers and they made a small change to the loading script so you shouldn't have to delete & re-install.
