New for checklists with tracks turned on, eBird automatically estimates the unique distance traveled, so you no longer have to worry about adjusting for backtracking. To change distance or duration, edit the track and both will update automatically.

Track editing has been added for all eBird checklists! You can now edit tracks after submitting a checklist — including checklists submitted in the past.
