YOUR PREFERENCE FOR NEWS UPDATES

Readers told us that being able to choose how they read the news is a top priority.

A new menu at the top of the Home screen gives you more control over how you read the news in our app.

Choose "Top News" to read news stories curated by our local news team as the most important news of the day or choose "Most Recent" to read news stories published most recently.

24/7 LIVE STREAMING VIDEO

In the new "Watch" tab, our news is streaming any time you want to watch.

Whether it's our 24/7 streaming channel, or video on demand clips, you're in control over what you want to watch, and when you want to watch it.

DARK MODE

Making sure the app reflects your preference on how you use your device was also important to you, whether your device is in Light Mode or Dark Mode. Our new app honors that system preference and gives you the choice to use the app in Light Mode or Dark Mode.

• A new weather radar map from our weather provider is in this app update, as our weather provider will discontinue the old radar map in the near future.
Please be sure to update to this version of our app to ensure your weather radar map continues to display radar in the future.
To upgrade the new radar map, we had to update the app's code base to support the latest iOS operating system versions. As a result, it's possible there could be some older iOS devices that may have trouble running this updated app.

• Peek and Pop: The Top Stories list in the app's home screen is now enabled with Apple's Peek and Pop technology, which lets users 'peek' (or preview) app content, and press a little deeper to 'pop' into related features in the app. With Peek and Pop, you can quickly Save a story to your device or Share it with friends.

• 3D Touch: The app's icon is now enabled with 3D Touch, an Apple technology that senses how deeply you press the display in iPhone 6S and later iPhone models. By 3D touching the app icon on your iPhone, you can go directly to the app's Top Stories, Weather and Search sections right from the home screen of your iPhone.

• We moved Video from the bottom navigation bar to the top of the app's home screen, so you can browse Top Stories by text or video.

• Additional bug fixes and performance improvements.
