They told me to write a fun release notes text for an app. “The changes are not that big,” they said, “It doesn’t matter what you say.”

But you know what? It’s still release notes and you deserve to know.

In this latest release, we’ve removed the pre-written phrases. This feature was a relic from an age long past when we didn’t have generative AI to tailor the content of your resume specifically for you. So yeah, now that we have something better, we don’t have to depend on solutions like these.

Then there’s a bunch of small details.

For example, now when you open the interviews feature for the first time, the app will automatically open the interview creation modal. It’s nothing big but it will save you one tap.

And finally, there’s one more. I’m not sure what it does. My notes say “feat: replace Jobs with WebView.” I’m sure it’s very important. Go team!

ATS Checker comes to iOS!

This is big news. The ATS Resume Checker is one of our most successful features ever. It lets you check your resume’s ATS compatibility and ensure that it gets into the hands of a human recruiter. In other words, it help you optimize your resume in a way that gets you more callbacks and interviews.

In addition, we’ve made several other improvements. You can now remove your photo from the resume. The cover letter generator has been improved. Authentication is now more secure. And there’s more.

Also, if you notice fewer bugs around, that’s intentional—we squashed quite a few to make the app more stable and secure.

JOB INTERVIEW PRACTICE 2.0

In this newest release, we took a look at the way we approach job interview practice.

Previously, every job interview session was tied to a resume. That’s all in the past now. You can now create as many interview training sessions as you want, without ever needing a resume.

We also added a simple interview management screen that lets you easily switch between different interview sessions, save them, delete them, or access your old practice sessions whenever you want. It should make finding the right interview session a bit less troublesome.

Apart from that, we did a whole host of small improvements to the UX of the app. There’s a good chance you won’t even notice most of them. That’s good. They should feel that natural.

Finally, we smashed some bugs. (Sorry, bugs!)

REFRESHED UI + JOB BOARD
In this latest release, we’ve made further improvements to the app’s UI based on feedback from our users. We’ve added a new dashboard that should make accessing the most frequently used features a bit easier. We’ve also enhanced the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen, which is now contextual and better reflects the tool you’re using.
The mobile app now includes access to Kickresume’s job board, similar to its desktop counterpart. You can now use your newly created resumes and cover letters to apply for jobs directly within the app.
Additionally, we’ve made some subtle visual changes to the UI. While these changes aren’t drastic, we hope they’ll make the app feel more sleek and enjoyable to use.
Oh, and, as always, we’ve squashed some bugs—just to keep with tradition.

We’ve just made several small changes to the app’s UX. The dashboard has been redesigned to take better advantage of swipe gestures. Also, the edit screen has been reorganized to better reflect how people intuitively approach resume building. These changes are the result of rigorous UX research conducted on (mostly) willing test subjects and should make the app more new-user-friendly. Finally, just like always, we smashed some bugs. It’s a never-ending battle.

Also, the sheer number of different AI features inside Kickresume was begging for a little spring cleaning. Now, you can find them all together in a separate section for AI tools called—surprise, surprise—the AI Toolbox.

Lastly, we have also made several improvements on the back end of the app. It should now run a bit better and be bug-free.

Additionally, we’ve added new alignment options for the hobbies and social media sections. It’s kinda hard to explain, so better give it a try and see for yourself. You might like it.
