Navigation Overhall

With feedback from our staff and quite a few users, we've made dramatic changes to the way you navigate and perform actions in Tryout and Draft Management.

Actions Replace the Task List

We admit that the old "Task List" was a real pain to use for navigation. As a result, we have removed the "Task List" and added an "Actions" button to aid in navigation. This does two things:

1) All the navigation is directly on each view. No need to bring up the old "Task List" to perform navigation functions.

2) Lists (draft sets, drafts, teams, players, etc) are now embedded in the view for better response and context.

Actions Consolidate Lower Navigation Bar

In many views there was a blue navigation bar at the bottom of the view. This view had many buttons for actions in the view context. The problem was that this navigation bar would get extremely crowded. The blue navigation bar also took up significant space at the bottom of the view. All of these functions have now been moved to the "Actions" list on each view.

Re-designed Import Function

While the old version worked fine, it was a but cumbersome to use. We've re-designed the views and process to flow better including an improved Template File which can be edited more easily and accurately.

New Player Slotting Function

For leagues that allow pre-selection or are using "titled" players (players who are retained on the same team year over year) - League Draft now allows you to "slot" players before the draft and have them automatically selected during the draft. Views are provided so that you may show coaches the slotted players by team, or by round.

This was a much requested feature that we've added for this release.

Of course no new release would be complete without a number of bug fixes and updates. We've done a number of things "under-the-hood" to make the app perform better and be more stable.

Updates and Bug Fixes

- Per popular request, we've added colors for the teams in the draft. Select from 31 different color schemes and 'flip' the colors if you wish.

- Changes to the process for importing records to provide more feedback for each step including creation of templates, verification, and more. Now importing is much clearer and more robust.

With coaches input we've made changes that make work at evaluations just a little easier. Its through coaches feedback that the app continues to get better so please keep the feedback coming!

- Updated entry of Tryout / Evaluation data by moving from a scrolling wheel to a large data entry popup. With large numbers and much easier navigation you won't loose that number as the next player comes up to the station.

- Converted DropBox integration to API v2: This is a small impact, but you'll notice that the templates have moved to a common 'App' area in DropBox. This allows you to find and manage the templates and imports in a more straightforward manner.

- Enhanced template and import validation: While Tryout and Draft always had the ability to import data, the process was vague and not always accurate. Along with the convening to DropBox API v2, we've added validation functionality including:
  o Checking all headers for completeness
  o Validating all lines for completeness and data integrity
  o Error feedback that displays all error lines and highlights columns that need attention.

Changes to support iOS 9 and provide a platform for the new features available.

In preparation for the iPad Pro shipping, we've updated all of the interfaces to work with the new view sizes. If you're lucky enough to have one of the new iPad Pro's... League Draft will continue to work for you as before.

Our goal is to make great apps for everyone who purchases them. If someone does not like the app, we ask them to give us feedback so that we may address the issues and make changes, but some users opt to leave feedback on iTunes without asking for help, and those ratings hurt our ability to enable coaches and reach players.

We ask that if you really hate the app, contact us so that we may help you or, simply ask Apple for a refund. They will grant it and you'll have no additional impact.
