LockWhisper v8 is a major refresh with a redesigned dashboard, new vault modules, and upgraded private workflows.

The dashboard now organizes tools by purpose, making it easier to move between credentials, vaults, communication, productivity, capture and media, and safety tools.

New and expanded modules include Writings for notes and journal entries, Planner for agenda and task planning, Secure Media for encrypted photos, videos, and voice memos, Secure Scanner for QR, ID, business card, and OCR workflows, Link Vault, Custom Vaults, Identity Vault, Habit Tracker, Emergency Info Card, and Secure Clipboard.

This version adds local device-to-device sync for supported vault data over encrypted peer-to-peer connections, without LockWhisper servers or cloud vault storage.

Security and data handling also received major work: stronger key backup and import flows, key rotation improvements, undecryptable data recovery tools, enhanced fake password routing, improved encrypted search and favorites, updated Security Center reporting, and better YubiKey OATH behavior.

PGP setup, key generation, tips, vault actions, import flows, wallet cards, calendar navigation, custom vaults, and theme styling have all been polished for a cleaner experience across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

This release also includes many reliability fixes, migration improvements, and UI refinements across the app.

SIX NEW MODULES

This release adds six brand-new modules to the LockWhisper vault:

Link Vault — Save, organize, and encrypt your bookmarks and URLs. Keep your browsing interests private with a dedicated secure bookmark manager.

Habit Tracker — Build and track daily habits with full encryption. Your routines and streaks stay completely private.

Identity Vault — Store passports, driver's licenses, and other identity documents in an encrypted vault designed for sensitive personal records.

Emergency Info Card — Keep critical emergency contacts, medical conditions, allergies, and insurance details ready when you need them most.

2FA / TOTP Authenticator — Generate time-based and counter-based one-time passwords right inside LockWhisper. Supports QR code setup, manual entry, and YubiKey NFC for hardware-backed authentication codes.

YUBIKEY NFC SUPPORT

LockWhisper now integrates with YubiKey hardware security keys over NFC. Use your YubiKey to generate OATH codes directly within the 2FA Authenticator, adding a physical layer of security to your two-factor workflow. Tap your key, get your code — no network required.

SYNC WITH macOS

LockWhisper is no longer iPhone-only. This version introduces encrypted sync with the new LockWhisper for macOS companion app. Your vaults stay in sync across devices using end-to-end encryption — your data is never readable in transit. Same offline-first philosophy, now on your Mac.

LOCKWHISPER FOR macOS

The macOS app has officially launched alongside this update. Everything you rely on from the iPhone app — encrypted passwords, notes, files, contacts, and all 26 modules — is now available on your Mac with a native desktop experience.
