An assortment of improvements and bugfixes in this update, including:

- Book searches now fall back to alternative sources when a provider is experiencing issues
- Fixed a crash when scanning books with missing metadata in bulk scan mode
- Fixed a crash that could occur on the stats page for users with a large number of rated books (3000+)
- Fixed a crash when adding a book from online search on Apple Books with some missing metadata
- Fixed CSV import issues with single-character subjects or authors, and certain date separator formats

This update aims to fix issues that many of you were reporting relating to issues scanning barcodes. I've added a new book metadata source for barcode scanning: OpenLibrary. If the book barcode lookup at Google Books doesn't work, the app will fall-back to OpenLibrary. I aim to roll this out to the Online Search mode too; in the meantime, I welcome any feedback on this new metadata source.

This update fixes an issue where a book search may fail when a language restriction has been set in the Settings tab.

Unfortunately there have been issues this week with the book metadata source in use (Google Books). When this happens, the app falls back to a different source of book metadata - but there was a further problem (this one my fault) which would make the search fail at this fallback source whenever the app tries to restrict the results to only a given language. Whoopsie.

With this update, the fallback should work, which should prevent the errors. The update also fixes an issue where the app could get stuck in edit mode when the search bar was active, and improves a few small UI elements on iOS 26.

Welcome to Reading List v2.6! Here's what's new:

EXPORT COVER IMAGES
At last, you can now export and import a zip file that contains, alongside the usual metadata CSV, all of your book cover images.

NEW APP ICONS
The app now includes a suite of newly designed app icons; why not try out a different look?

SHORTCUTS SUPPORT
Adds support for invoking common actions via the Shortcuts app. The search online and scan barcode actions can be invoked from Siri, and the data export function can be run from a custom shortcut.

CONFIGURE WIDGETS
You can now adjust what books show in your home- and lock-screen widgets, and specify the display order for those books. Just long-press on the widget and tap Edit Widget to see the settings.

OTHER FIXES
As always, I've been fixing bugs, improving accessibility, and keeping the app in general good shape too.
