ROOM LAYOUTS

Every room now uses a customizable mixed-size card grid. Tap Edit to add, remove, resize, or rearrange cards — activity tiles, toggles, weather, clock, cameras, sensors, Lutron keypads, and more. Cameras get a 4:3 landscape default, keypads can be Double or Double Tall, and clock tiles can show moon phase and a sky gradient. Layouts on smaller controllers automatically scale down. Keep multiple layouts per room and assign them to specific controllers or have Roomie switch automatically based on the running activity or other attributes.

DASHBOARD

A new Now Playing tile aggregates active activities across your rooms with transport controls and power-off. Tap any camera tile on the Dashboard to go straight to fullscreen zoom.

iCLOUD BACKUPS

Manual and scheduled backups now use iCloud as a reliable transport that works on every Roomie platform including tvOS. Turn on Automatic Backups on one controller and the rest of your mesh follows along, never overwriting your existing local history. Roomie TV can restore directly from iCloud Backups on tvOS. Smarter rotation tracks daily and monthly snapshots per home.

NEXT GEN WEATHER WITH AIR QUALITY

The HomeBar Weather Panel has been redesigned with a compact header, stacked alert banners with severity tinting, an hourly strip, and richer daily forecast data. PurpleAir Air Quality reads AQI from a local sensor on your network or from nearby public outdoor sensors via the PurpleAir cloud API. Each controller now fetches weather independently for faster, more accurate forecasts everywhere. Clock tiles can also display a moon-phase badge and a live sky gradient driven by local sunrise and sunset.

IR LEARNING RESURRECTED

IR Learning has been rebuilt from the ground up. Global Caché iTach, Simple Blaster, and Roomie Blaster are auto-detected, with carrier override and protocol detection. Learn codes for thermostats, alarms, lights, switches, fans, shades, garage doors, locks, keypads, and sensors — not just TVs and receivers. Code verification adds timing-jitter tolerance, duplicate detection, and a full event history for every learn attempt.

VOICE CONTROL IMPROVEMENTS

Two wake word models — Roomie AI (instant on-device) and Apple Speech (slower but rock-solid). Three voice control modes once the wake word is recognized: Local, Roomie AI natural-language, and xAI Voice for hands-free conversational control. Substantially fewer false positives in noisy rooms.

UNIVERSAL REMOTE HTTP API

A documented, stable HTTP API at /api/v1/ for third-party bridges, automations, and integrations. POST /api/v1/remote/press takes a button name (play, pause, volumeup, activity1, activitypoweroff, etc.) and resolves it against the currently running activity. Supports tap, press/release, repeat, timed-hold, and digit-entry actions. Capabilities and Rooms endpoints let bridges build dynamic UIs.
