Paint that layers the way you expect. Paint now composites over the paint already there, so a lower opacity lays down thinner paint instead of letting the material show through, and the opacity you pick is the opacity you get at any brush size. The eraser only takes color away, leaving the hue of what's left alone, and erased edges no longer bleed the old color into their neighbors. With symmetry on, a stroke crossing the mirror plane no longer paints twice as heavily along it. Paint and masks that follow the material. Sculpting through a painted region used to wash the paint out a little more with every step, until a long drag left it pale. An inverted mask had the matching problem and went dead partway through a stroke, stalling the surface and leaving a blocky edge where it stopped. Paint and masks now travel with the material for the whole stroke. Stretch a layer along one axis. The scale tool now has a gizmo with three axis handles, so you can squash or stretch the current layer down a single axis instead of only scaling it evenly. Fewer, bigger undos. Dragging a slider or scrubbing a color used to record an undo entry for every event and flush your whole undo history in a fraction of a second. A burst of related edits is now one undo step.
