Setlist Helper 3.1.8 — Release Notes

  This update focuses on stability and polish — your place is preserved, your sidebar behaves, and a handful of crashes are gone.

  Stay where you left off
  - Song lists, setlists, tag lists, and artist/genre lists now remember your scroll position when you switch apps and come back.
  - Lyric view remembers your scroll position too, even when the lyric is zoomed.
  - The top toolbar no longer disappears on song and lyric screens after rotating or collapsing the split view on iPad.
  - On iPad, the sidebar stays closed when you return from another app.

  Audio playback
  - The audio player now starts more reliably and the toolbar no longer gets stuck "playing" when a track can't load.

  Crash fixes
  - Fixed a crash when sharing a ChordPro file from a song with no audio path.
  - Fixed a crash in the song catalog selector caused by orphaned setlist songs.
  - Fixed a metronome crash when switching between songs with different time signatures.
  - Fixed several background sync crashes that could occur while editing songs, setlists, or tags across devices.
  - Fixed a crash that could occur when the app was snapshotted in the background while viewing a song.

- Bluetooth Pedal Identification: A new interactive tool is available in Settings > Bluetooth Pedal. Press any button on your pedal to see which button the app detects and the specific action currently assigned to it.

  Sync Engine Improvements
  - Songs are now downloaded in pages of 50, reducing server load and improving reliability for users with large song libraries.
  - Fixed a sync issue where songs with special characters (smart quotes, emoji) would silently fail to sync. Song data now handles all Unicode characters
  correctly.
  - Fixed sync not starting automatically after switching accounts.
  - Sync progress is now visible on the Sync page after an account switch.
  - Leading and trailing spaces are now trimmed from song and setlist names during sync.

  Crash Fixes
  - Fixed a crash in the PDF viewer when the device is under memory pressure.
  - Fixed a crash when importing songs with a duration that has no seconds value.

  Lyric Settings

 Dropbox Import
  - Fixed an issue where importing files from Dropbox could show an infinite spinning wheel if a download failed or encountered an error. The import now completes
  correctly even when individual files fail.

  Bug Fixes:

  - Fixed a crash on iOS 18 when launching the app on iPad. The app could crash during startup when setting up the main menu due to a change in how iOS 18 handles
  the split view controller hierarchy.
  - Fixed a crash when adding songs to a setlist from the catalog. Renumbering setlist songs could cause an inconsistency between the table view and the data
  source, resulting in a crash.
  - Fixed a crash when switching user accounts. The Core Data stack reset could fail when reassigning the database context to the main view controller on iOS 18.
  - Improved stability of table view updates. If an internal inconsistency is detected during a batch update, the app now gracefully reloads the table instead of
  crashing.
  - Fixed lyric settings popover labels not visible in dark mode on iPad. Text labels for "Lyrics", "Size", font name, "Color", and "Background Color" were
  invisible against the dark background.
  - Improved lyric settings popover layout with better padding and spacing.
  - Added Firebase Crashlytics for improved crash reporting and diagnostics.

Fixed an issue on iPad where the sidebar menu could not be dismissed after opening. Tapping a menu item (Songs, Setlists, Tags, Settings, etc.) now automatically closes the sidebar. The sidebar can be reopened at any time by swiping from the left edge of the screen.

What's New in Setlist Helper 3.0

  Modern Design
  Setlist Helper has been completely redesigned with a fresh, modern look. The app now features a dark
  theme by default, SF Symbol icons throughout, and a polished Home screen with song, setlist, and tag
  counts at a glance. Songs, setlists, and tags all use updated list views. The Settings, Login,
  Register, Purchase, and Lyric Search screens have all been redesigned with a clean card-style layout.

  Improved iPad Experience
  The iPad now uses a modern sidebar layout with better split-view navigation. Menus and toolbars are
  consistent across iPhone and iPad.

  Configurable Toolbar
  The performance view toolbar is now customizable. Choose which buttons to show — Auto Scroll, Play
  Audio, Metronome, Transpose, and View Scale — from the context menu. The play/stop button is always
  available.

  Better Lyric Display
  Song-of-highlight sections now support multiline highlights with a configurable highlight color. View
  Scale uses improved font scaling for sharper text. Breaks display correctly in performance view
  without overlapping content.

  Improved Sync
  Fixed issues with the sync engine that could cause empty setlists after syncing. The Sync screen has a
   new landing page with a streamlined login flow. Per-user database switching keeps your data separate
  when multiple accounts share a device.

  Fixed Lyric Import
  Importing lyrics now correctly handles song ordering, {audio:} tags, and audio file attachments. File
  Sharing has been polished for easier use.

  Key & Time Signature Pickers
  Songs now have dedicated pickers for key and time signature, making it easier to enter and update song
   details.

  Crash Fixes
  Fixed crashes when adding songs, setlists, or tags to empty lists, when deleting tags, and when
  dragging breaks in setlists. Added bounds checking throughout to prevent unexpected crashes.

  Updated Dependencies
  AirTurn SDK updated to 4.9.2, Dropbox SDK updated to 7.4.2, and Google Mobile Ads SDK updated. The app
   now requires iOS 13.2 or later.

Fixed metronome starting with when moving to the next song with a Bluetooth pedal.

- Metronome
- You can configure the play button to Start the metronome, play audio, or start auto-scroll.
- Added audio options to navigate to the next song when the audio is finished and play the next song.

Sync improvements to resolve crashes.

Fixed crash with Sync.

- When deleting songs at www.setlisthelper.com they will get deleted in the app.

Fixed memory leak when using PDF files. This created random crashes.

- "Other" field of a song was not Sync'ed. This has been fixed.
