Original release notes

so much goodness, where do we even start?

-let's start with pinned filters. its the small things. pinned filters allow you to select any filter & pin that selection indefinitely regardless of session, device or time. you can always toggle it off & on as well. this is great if the user only wants to see a specific subset of the library at a time. for example you may work only on footwear & want your library to only show you footwear materials. pin it!

-last update we brought in 3d so what more do you need? how about alternative lighting for your models? materials & colors change depending on lighting so are providing users with 5 varying lighting scenarios. the default is studio, a neutral balanced scene. but users can also chose night, overcast, sunny & retail. yes, retail. you know why? where do you sell your products? that's right, in retail showrooms.

-now that we have varying lighting well what about materials in 3d? we started with a simple system but we're expanding it now. materials will be using the same intelligence in our real time 3d engine as our rendering system. resulting in more accurate representation of materials in real time. this is pretty big & will only get better over time. even tagging the materials when you create swips (swatch in progress) will be utilizing them. we have big plans for this one!

-ok. 3d? check. lighting? check. materials? check. that's gotta be it, right? no way. when we introduced 3d we started out with 5 generic industry based models. while that was amazing for our users, we didn't stop there. we are shipping over 50 unique models to cover sub categories of apparel, footwear, home goods, accessories, product design & automotive. but guess what? this is just the beginning. we'll be adding more & more to provide our community with as many context sensitive 3d assets as we can to help them communicate their ideas better & better. remember, you don't have to model anything, or be a technical wizard because all you have to do to access them is to use our smart tag system!

-ok ok ok, that's got to be it. what more can you do? how about full integrated AR capabilities directly in our app. you're joking right? no we are not. full augmented reality capabilities are now built into the app allowing you to not just visualize your materials on a variety of 3d assets, but then visualize that asset in your real environment. w…
