- v1.43iOS
Bugfix. Compatibility with devices running iOS 15.x has been restored.
- v1.42iOS
Fix to prevent installation on pre iOS 16 devices.
- v1.41iOS
Teapot iPad users now have a 4th main staton view that provides more data as well as 10 days of hourly forecasts on a single screen. No need to scroll or select other view to see all your weather data. Several other improvements were made to better accommodate iOS 18. Numerous small changes were also made to work better with various screen sizes.
- v1.37iOS
Wind gust and rain rate gauges now allow you to optionally display an animated strip chart showing minute-by-minute readings over time.It is not just aesthetically pleasing, it makes it easier to see wind gust and rainfall rate trends.
- v1.36iOS
We've made several small improvements in this release to improve how some of the features work. 1) The Units setting for distance incorrectly swapped Imperial for Metric. This has been fixed. 2) The Wind compass dial face looks a little different. I plan on offering multiple user selectable "Faces" for the Compass Dial. This will allow a little user customization. I want to add faces for Brushed Brass and Stainless Steel amongst others. So the changes in this release were made to make it easier to create them. You will be able to select the Face you want in Settings. 3) Also in the Wind Compass area, we changed the Rainfall intensity ring that appears when it is raining. It used to change the color of the whole ring to a color representative of the current intensity. Now the ring is a gradient that starts with blue for light rain, and progresses to green, yellow, orange, red and purple as intensity increases. It really looks nice and gives it a little more "pop". The maximum scale value is 3 inches per hour. Higher rain rates will be recorded, but not shown on the gauge. 4) Also on the Wind Compass view, the last release included forecast boxes for "Today" and "Tomorrow". The icon names are included in the data we get from Weatherflow. For example, for Clear conditions the icon name they send us is "clear-day" for daytime, and "clear-night" for nighttime. I noticed later that after midnight, they switch from "clear-night" to "clear-day. So the display was not accurate during nighttime hours between 12:00am and sunrise. I fixed this so the icon shown now aligns with your sunrise and sunset times. 5) The Wind Compass view also has a few more visual cues when the forecast boxed are displayed. If the precipitation probability is 10% or more, a blue drop is overlayed over the regular forecast icon. If the precipitation probability id 50% or more, the border around the box will be blue. If the forecast temperature is between 80 and 90 degrees F (or equivalent), the border will be orange. If the forecast temperature is 90 degrees F (or equivalent) or more, the border will be red. Rain trumps temperatures here. 6) The linear gauges on the Home Screen were re-done to make them more useful. There were also some graphical problems that have been fixed. Specifically, the wind gust scale is now a maximum of 40 MPH or your localized equivalent. The gauge originally auto-scaled but that reduced the usefulness as you were never sure. We chose 40 MPH based on what would be considered high wind for most users. We may add a scale setting that users could adjust if users request it. Similarly, with the rain rate linear gauge, we set the maximum range to 3 inches per hour. This is now the same as the circular rain rate on the Wind Compass screen. This will provide a more consistent view. The maximum ranges only apply to the gauges themselves. Actual high values will still be there as before, no matter what they are.
- v1.35iOS
Bug fix: If Display Yesterday Rain was selected instead of Display Storm Total, app would close when swiping between main screen and Wind Compass Screen.
- v1.34iOS
This is a fix add a toggle switch in the Settings so that users can turn on or off the display of the forecast tiles in the Wind Compass View in landscape orientation to accommodate split screen operation.
- v1.33iOS
- Wind compass view now shows graphical representations for current day and tomorrow's forecasts earn in landscape orientation. - Improved accuracy for dew point observations - Both rain rate and next rain prediction are now displayed at the same time on iPads on the original main view. - A yellow circle was added to the inner Wind Compass that provides a graphical indication of the percentage of daylight left for the day. - Other performance and user interface improvements.
- v1.32iOS
Bugfix for crash when swiping between screens when rain rate is over 3 inches per hour.
- v1.31iOS
Bug fix - sunrise and sunset times were not updating at midnight if the app was open.
- v1.30iOS
There are several new changes relating to the Wind Compass View - The "feels like" temperature will not be displayed unless it is different than the ambient air temperature. - The rain, storm and lightning totals will only be displayed during a storm or when the storm total is still showing a value which is one calendar day after rain has ceased. - If there is no rain to report, the barometer and battery readings will move down to the bottom to maintain symmetry and be larger. If there IS rain to report, they will move back to the original location at the top. - There is a new setting under Miscellaneous called Swap Battery/Sun. If this is selected, the battery voltage will not be displayed and sunrise and sunset times will be shown instead. - The barometer reading will now change color when we detect rapid changes in either direction. It will be orange if we detect a 2 millibar change in 20 minutes, and red if we detect a 3+ millibar change. Rapid changes can signal that severe weather is imminent and this will help draw your attention. Thunderstorms, tornados, and high winds are all associated with rapid barometer changes. - Lightning totals are hidden if there is no lightning to report
- v1.29iOS
- Added support for iCloud sync for the crucial settings to help users configure additional devices more easily. - Added an option for users to reverse the wind compass pointer arrow to be more intuitive as to the direction the wind is blowing. - Added UV predictions to hourly forecasts - Fixed an issue with rain rate color coding.
- v1.27iOS
Bug fix
- v1.26iOS
Fix for older AIR/SKY stations due to an error in the vendor documentation.
- v1.25iOS
Bug fixes and Enhancements - Fixed a problem where extra web-socket streams could be opened. - Fixed a problem with rain intensity display. - Station coordinates no longer change when users location changes. - Station observations now load faster on start-up. - Added a unit setting for distance. - Lightning display on wind view now also displays the average strike distance. - Reorganized station and location settings in preparation for multiple station and iCloud support.
- v1.24iOS
Bug fix for the following 3 items: 1) Daylight Savings Time not recognized for the High Wind date& time 2) Daylight Savings Time not recognized for the High Rain Rate date& time 3) Dew Point won't displayed properly on the Storm View page in landscape orientation
- v1.23iOS
Fixed display issues for users whose devices are capped at iOS 15.x. Added an option to switch main Humidity display with Dew Point.
- v1.22iOS
There are 2 fixes to the previous release. 1) In Settings -> Rain Settings part of the screen was not visible in landscape orientation. 2) The wind compass gauge on the Wind View now accurately chooses the correct direction of rotation to use the shortest path.
- v1.21iOS
Version 1.21 1) Fixed problem with arrow rotation on the Wind compass display. It will no longer return to zero when there is no wind, and it will also calculate the shortest path to a new reading. This significantly reduces distracting arrow movement. 2) Improved the arrow animation to be smoother when moving. 3) Wind compass gauge now shows a green arc indicator around outside rim that indicates the average wind direction over the last 20 observations. Wind gusts can vary widely, and this gives the user a better sense of overall wind direction. 4) Wind compass display now displays the wind direction in the center of the gauge. This allows the use of a slightly larger font and improves readability. 5) Wind compass displays now includes Storm total and lightning strikes at the bottom of the screen, just above rain and rain rate observations. These will only appear if the values are non-zero or if a storm is in progress. 6) Added an option in the Rain Settings to display Yesterdays rain totals instead of Storm totals. Storm totals are only useful if Teapot is being used as a full time display and it always on. This setting allows you to show useful information if the user is not using it as a display. 7) Fixed a problem introduced a couple of versions back that caused the Prevent Device Sleep option setting to be ignored. It now works as intended.
