  7. v6.3.0iOS
Introducing Training Planner: Import your personal training plan and stay on top of your upcoming workouts with Tempo.

Quick backstory: Around December 2019 / early 2020, I was building an app called Epic, a training planner app that would support any fitness training—all workout types, not just running. Unfortunately, it never shipped due to the crazy events of the year 2020. Fast-forward to the present times, and I am super excited to bring Epic's core—mostly rebuilt with modern tech and focused on running plans—to Tempo.

It's a little crazy, and I never thought it would take me this long to ship Epic when I started, let alone ship it inside Tempo. The shelved copy of Epic constantly taunted me because I wanted it for my training and felt the need for it during every training cycle over the past four years. I hope you find it helpful in your next training cycle. I've been following Pfitzinger's 24-55 plan for the Chicago marathon this fall, and it looks beautiful in Tempo. :)

    Enjoy & Stay Active!
  8. v6.2.0iOS
    • Custom Workout Titles
Add a title to your workouts for organization and faster identification later. Titles combined with the existing tags, stars, and notes will add a whole new dimension of personalization to your private training log.

    • Easier Workout Actions
All the workout-related actions on the Workout Details screen are now streamlined into a single menu in the top right.

    # ForTheJoyOfRunning
  9. v6.1.0iOS
Added Power and Cadence alerts for custom workouts. In addition to creating custom workouts with pace and heart rate alerts, we can now set up power and cadence alerts with a goal range or target value.
    #ForTheJoyOfRunning
  10. v6.0.3iOS
Added new Readiness settings screen with the ability to increase the normal acceptable range of RHR and HRV CV for the daily readiness analysis. Are you finding Readiness to be too strict, constantly suggesting suboptimal or impaired state, but don't feel that way? Use the new settings to widen the range and relax the evaluation for your training and lifestyle.
  11. v6.0.1iOS
Quick update to fix a critical bug that prevented showing Readiness stats for the present day for folks in some timezones.
  12. v6.0.0iOS
Introducing Tempo v6. This is an amazing update to make your favorite running app even better. The key feature of this release is Readiness. It has been in the works for a long time (to put mildly). Please give it a try and share your feedback — we can iterate and tune it further as more of us use it everyday. I hope you find it helpful in your training.

Here’s an overview of the release,

    • Introducing Readiness
Track your daily physiological recovery and training adaptation based on your HRV and Resting Heart Rate in Tempo's new Readiness tab.

    • Glanceable Durations
Tempo's signature dashboard design now includes total workout durations. You can swipe between durations, paces, and distances for the last 7/30/365 days + current week/month/year.

    • Configure Dashboard Calendar
Change the number of weeks displayed on the Training Dashboard's Intensity calendar from Tempo's in-app settings.

    • Indoor & Outdoor Workouts
Tempo's filtering feature now supports viewing stats only for indoor or outdoor workouts. You can also exclude indoor workouts from the average pace displayed on the Training Dashboard.

    • Bug fixes & Minor Design Changes
And of course, as always, there are a bunch of bug fixes and minor design optimizations.

    Enjoy & Stay Active!
  13. v5.1.3iOS
Minor change to surface 2023 Highlights (Your Training Year in Review) for everyone. This one is the same as the last update but has a fix to handle what software engineers tend to fear — bugs in code dealing with dates, especially Jan 1st. :)

You can also access your Year in Review via Annual Highlights. This is a no-gimmicks, on-device feature. It's simple, fast, and private, enabling viewing all the past years from the drop-down in the top right corner of the Annual Highlights screen.

Wishing you a very healthy and active 2024. Happy New Year!

  25. v4.2.1iOS
Hello. This build has a few minor bug fixes that have been around but limited to very few folks and hence were not easily discoverable and fixable. You will notice the following improvements if you are one of those folks,

    • Latest workout widget will work correctly now instead of showing a very old workout.
    • Watch app should show the correct latest workout.
    • Workouts imported into the Health app might show better splits info when available.

My thanks to the runners who helped troubleshoot these seemingly random and not very straightforward bugs.

In addition, there is more UI polish, new motivational quotes, and some work for yet-to-be-released features.

    Enjoy & Stay Active!

    • Calendar of Active Days:
A simple and unified calendar highlighting every active day. Makes a fun and unique visual of training history.

    • Averages:
We already had totals for key stats, and now we also have totals averaged per workout for the year.

All of the above also works for the past years. So while you can check your year-in-review for 2022, you can also relive the past training years.
