UCF Mobile can now send push notifications and messages based on location. This opt-in feature is only available while on a UCF campus to receive important updates and messages based on your location. Users will need to set location permissions for UCF Mobile to Always to use this feature on campus while the app is closed, or While Using the App when the app is opened.

*SafeWalk: allows users to virtually walk family, friends and colleagues home or to another destination by monitoring their location on a real-time map.

*iMessage app: you can now share fun UCF stickers and animated images directly in iMessages.

*Bug fixes and behind the scenes updates to keep everything running smoothly.

UCF Tips: allows users to alert appropriate offices at UCF to crime tips, instances of misconduct, housing, parking issues, and more, all through UCF Mobile. In some cases, users will be able to share photos, videos, and audio of a situation or issue, and then hear directly from the department addressing the concern.
 
SafeWalk: allows users to share their location, destination, and estimated arrival time with selected friends who can track the user’s trip on a real-time map. Friends will receive updates about the trip and in the event of the unexpected, can ping police for assistance and relay critical location and timing information from the app.

Sticker Pack Update: Even more stickers to use with iMessage!

*iMessage app: you can now share fun UCF stickers and animated images directly in iMessages.
**Includes over 30 images from Knightro, Knugget, Graduation, Class of 2023, Citronaut, and much more!

*Performance upgrades to make the app faster and perform better in low-bandwidth situations.

• Fixed an issue where the app would occasionally crash when opened from a push notification.

• Fixed an issue where map locations showed no content which limited walking directions

• Each push notification now displays the title, body of the message, and an image (if available)
• Images are now visible in the messages list
• Event agenda improvements

UCF is piloting location based notifications with the UCF Mobile app version 5.3. These notifications will only be available if you enter a specific location on campus. This includes the John C. Hitt Library, Technology Commons, and Technology Product Center.​
